As much as I criticise Scotrail and Network Rail for appalling capacity management and line management on this line, I will very rarely criticise the brave men and women who operate as TE's on the ayrshire lines.
The amount of human detritus that frequents these lines is a sight to behold, a...

Being a frugal Scotsman I have a ticket for Friday part of which is advance from Edinburgh EDB to york with EC, the other is the glasgow to edinburgh piece. Can I assume I can board the XC train from central that goes to Edinburgh EDB and use the ticket or do I have to use it on Scotrail , ie...

Also do the trains have loos ? ( beer seal etc)
Piffle, very similar thing happened to Richard Bacon on Virgin a few weeks ago, he paid the ticket, as I did when I lost a portion of it and did not behave in this manner.
The fact he is a student is irrelevant, he is a foul mouthed arrogant disrespectful youth that unfortunately is becoming...
I have noticed since the introduction of the 380's that they now seem to stop right at the end of the platforms (even if its a 4 car unit) so making punters walk the length of the platform out of the shelters etc. Irvine station a good example.
I cannot fathom why this is done other than...
If I put a route search into the Virgin trains site for travel at mid day 4th Nov Glasgow to Coventry there appears to be a direct train, yet it is not listed on national rail , nor does it appear on the Virgin timetable, am I missing something ?
Was coming home from Ayr around 3 yesterday, and the Royal Scotsman was on the adjacent platform, no one seemed to be on it, wondered where is was going etc. Looked great especially the dining car
