Most "interesting" bus company for workings

Transdev Keighley & Burnley run 3 routes past my house. 62 Keighley to Ilkley - this is usually run with a single decker, but sometimes, especially in summer, double deckers run. 1 bus in 4 interworks with other routes so runs with a midibus (though this is about to change). Some evening...

    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

Yes, sorry - Saturdays and school holidays they are. There's still a small amount of the 171 route those 172 buses will duplicate.

    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

It seems to be being replaced by the 172 that currently misses Youlgreave being diverted into Youlgreave (including on Saturdays). Hopefully, that will be a double decker on Schooldays, at least.

Trivia: More than one operator on town services

Not to mention a lot of actual competition. I can think of a couple of dozen routes in West Yorkshire then.

    Manchester Airport Ticket Roulette

With the advantage of being able to catch any Northern or TPE service, direct or changing in Manchester.

West Yorkshire Bus Franchising to go ahead

Unless the proposals are vastly different from Manchesters, I doubt a legal challenge will take much time as most of the arguments will already have been heard.

    7 Day London travelcard question

You can tap in and out normally at Watford. Staff on trains will be used to seeing Oystercards. They may or may not have equipment to read them but that's not something for you to worry about. Do note that most Avanti West Coast trains have stopping restriction and you can't catch them...

Trivia: More than one operator on town services

Unlike many jointly operated routes where operators alternate, this every 20 minute service has 2 Arriva services followed by 2 trentbarton services for most of the day. Bustimes.org seems confused and has the trentbarton times listed under the Arriva listing.

First West Yorkshire & York discussion

That bus is also in the timetable on the Bee Network bus site. https://assets.ctfassets.net/nv7y93idf4jq/4dIXIPlQmTcG5ug5pFME9k/2acbb9fd19cddd486e70008c91a9a40a/84__180__184_correction_24-SC-0176.pdf 1710356925 Notably, First are running just in front of the competition.

First West Yorkshire & York discussion

Bustimes.org suggests in the middle of the day from every 12 minutes to every 10 minutes, remaining at every 12 during the peaks, with Sundays going from every 12 to every 10 minutes and Saturdays from every 12 to every 8.

Should we have a "maximum" fare for any journey?

Cross Country rarely has reasonable advance fares anywhere near the date of travel, certainly not in First Class. I often travel for work. Much of it is by rail, but where a journey is by Cross Country we either go via London, or, if that's much slower, drive. The main reason for this seems...

Trivia: More than one operator on town services

In Oxford Stagecoach's 1 and Oxford Bus Company's 5 are basically the same route and generally run alternately taking almost all the same tickets (some wider area tickets are only valid on one operator).

    Reading Buses and Thames Valley

Since First gave up, yes. Minor changes to the 701/2. A few extra journeys on the 703 (some faster to/from Bracknell) https://www.reading-buses.co.uk/more-buses-and-new-timetable-25-march-windsor-express-routes

First West Yorkshire & York discussion

They seem to have little concern for passengers. 2 weeks' notice that there will be major changes and even less notice of the little details like when buses will actually run.

    National Express Coaches Discussion

The last services from Bradford to Leeds on the 72 bus are at 2325 and Midnight. The 465 coach is at 2340. In the other direction the 465 is at 0600 from Leeds - that's within a minute of the second 72 of the morning.

Interesting that they're available between Leeds and Bradford on the 465 but not the 561 or other services.

    Transdev Blazefield

There's not a lot of competition except for the 360 between Huddersfield and the Infirmary. On the other side of Huddersfield it's rarely the only route on a road, but it doesn't run the same as any First route.

Is Megabus service from Leeds to Hull ended?

Which I mentioned in the post before yours... Via York isn't much further than the shortest route.

What Would Be The Impact Of Making Bus Fares Free?

You can get tickets on the 0020 465 service, arriving Wakefield at 0040. It's usually £3.20 plus booking fee. Some nights they do sell out, though.
