16 day line closure at Hackney Downs - London Overground suspension and WAML diversions, 20th Jul - 4th Aug

I’m not sure trains could run for 16 days without seeing a depot?

    Heathrow to Chelmsford options

Not possible at T5 LU or Rail stations. Both are staffed by Heathrow Rail employees. Also T5 machines only take card AFAIK.

Eurostar St Pancras - is bedlam normal?

I get this train regularly, 45-60 mins before departure is completely fine.

Network Rail removes Islamic message on King's Cross display boards after fierce criticism

As a Muslim, the start times (Fajr) and end times (Maghrib) would be useful as these change every day. I’ve been caught out before this Ramadan already, where I had to pop to get a chocolate and water to break my fast before continuing my journey. Putting quotes that can be taken out of...

Four bidders for Elizabeth line operations from May 2025 announced

This is done by Rail for London Infrastructure (part of TfL) and is not included with the current or future Elizabeth Line concessions.

Four bidders for Elizabeth line operations from May 2025 announced

Would this be the first time a Japanese operator ran in the UK? (Albeit partly)

    London Overground line names announced

The best name on the shortest route eh? Also I notice that the Suffragette line is green. Something was done right

    Incident at Dalston Junction.

There also needs to be some questions raised regarding whether the information was on the TfL website or not. The article and the video says there was no information on the TfL website. If that’s the case then that’s poor. I presume that the station supervisor needs to contact their control to...

Elizabeth Line train on the GWML Down Main (rather than Down Relief) 24/01

Yes, @aliceh was correct. It was routed on to the mains before Ealing Broadway because 9H46 had an issue at Ealing (I believe failed to transition). It was routed back on to the reliefs after Hayes.

[Trivia] Passenger Trains That Often Carry No Passengers For Entire Route

Depending on the day of the week/time of year, the 2310 or 2325 HEX from Paddington to Heathrow was regularly empty.

OLE tripped between Paddington and Maidenhead. Round 2 anyone?

Disruption on HS1 due to signalling problems caused by flooding in the Thames Tunnel.

Eurostar announced they’re running their full service tomorrow. Would be nice if they ran additional services like the last disruption (the eurotunnel strike I think) to ferry some stranded people home. 3 serious incidents in a month makes me worried for my next Eurostar trip.

Disruption on HS1 due to signalling problems caused by flooding in the Thames Tunnel.

Eurostar doesn’t help themselves at all when there’s disruption. News that both tunnels were blocked was announced by southeastern between 4AM and 5AM. Eurostar didn’t announce it until 6AM on their website, when the first scheduled departure from London was 0631. The earlier they get the news...

Now both Thames tunnels shut and Eurostar/southeastern not running from St Pancras this morning.

    Eurostar disruption 30th November

“Power supply problems outside the UK end of the Channel Tunnel” The same place that the failed train happened on 30/11? Not a good week for Eurostar, starting to get nervous about my upcoming trip.

    Eurostar disruption 30th November

The Eurostar app states: “We're sorry that we've had to cancel our evening trains on 01 December. That is due to strike action in Calais resulting in the early closure of the the high-speed line we use in Northern France.”

    Eurostar disruption 30th November

Would things have been different if Ashford Intl platforms were open? Get a unit from Temple mills to do the unit swap for a cross platform change there, instead of being dragged all the way to London (I presume at reduced speed).
