    Favourite Alcoholic Drink

I can confirm that Brother's Toffee Apple cider tastes quite nice. As for what I like to drink my personal favorite is Morgans Spiced Rum, however I also like drinking cider and lager and occasionally vodka with a mixer of some sort.

Fish & Chips Shops: Regional differences

The Chip Shop round the corner from me sells a "Chippy Munchie Box". It contains a piece of Fish, a battered Sausage, a battered hamburger, 4 or 5 potato fritters, loads of chips and a portion of curry sauce all for £5.50. I only have it occasionally but it is rather good.

A Solution for freight services running diesels 'under the wires'?

Surely it would be easier to have shunter locomotives at freight terminals to haul the train the "last mile"?

Flickr Changes - Not for the better

I have to say that the new design is beginning to grow on me, yes I'm aware that the new layout includes adverts however this is easily rectified by adding a program such as Adblock Plus as a plugin to the browser. It's a pity that some of my contacts have been unwilling to live with the new...

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned that Rangers beat current SPL leaders Motherwell 2-0 tonight in the Scottish League Cup, an excellant result for Rangers :D

Future of Class 313s - facts and fiction

All PEP EMU's share the same bodyshell so there shouldn't be any reason for them not being able to physically fit down the tunnels but converting 315's to third rail may prove to be costly.

    Am I a train snob?

I do things like this regularly, until they were both taken off the Clyde Coast lines if I was coming home from Glasgow I would usually get the 15:45 Glasgow Central - Largs service to Kilwinning (which was almost always a 318) instead of the 16:00 to Ayr (which was almost always a 334). I...

    Your avatar (photographs)

Mine was taken on the last "official" day of 318s on the Clyde Coast/Inverclyde lines and I bashed the pair from Ayr to Irvine, however this wasn't the last ever time I travelled on one on these lines as the following week I bashed one from Gourock to Glasgow Central.

Guardian: "Penalised train passengers fight ticketing rules"

I'm guessing that the "guard" on the platform is a dispatcher who may well have no ticketing knowledge but as passengers see someone who is wearing a uniform they ask them if they can board the train.....
