    Customer Host shifts and overtime

Hi there! Shifts are kept roughly the same during the week, you HAVE to have 12 hours rest between shifts so that's how they work it out. However I've had occasions where I've been on earlies Monday to Wednesday and then Thursday I've been on a late which mucks your body clock about a bit! FSL...

    GWR Medical advice

I had mine end of February, the eye sight was a very quick job of looking through these sort of binoculars on the desk and seeing the smallest font you can read. Unfortunately I don't wear glasses so I couldn't tell you if they'd do it differently for you! On the medication side, as long as you...

    Customer Host shifts and overtime

It depends on the depot to be honest so I couldn't tell you exactly, but my earliest shift was 0330 to around midday and my latest was 1700 to around half two in the morning. Overtime is always readily available and I found even if I wasn't "given" an overtime shift I could ring up and ask if...

    First Group Trainee Train Drivers

I'm not sure who this is directed at but I'm internal and I was just stating what I've been told by my Fratton colleagues in case it helped anyone. Sorry if I offended.

Yeah on a course at the moment with a Fratton trainee and he's said they're all going to be SPM this year

    Another Unsuccessful Application!

If it's anything like our TOC you get two goes at the assessments that the company pays for, and if you want to continue reapplying after those two goes you can, but you have to pay (not sure how much) to take the assessments again.

    DMI dress code

Hi all, Just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who responded, I had my medical today and assuming the drugs test comes back clear (I'd be very confused if it didn't!) I'll be starting in a few weeks!! As for what to wear, I had spoken to a senior manager before my assessment day who told me...

    (Answered) Starting Training

Sorry to hijack this one, but what would be the scenario for internals starting training? Is wearing your uniform ok or is it still a case of smart stuff until you get driver uniform? Cheers

    DMI dress code

Excellent, that's exactly what I wanted to hear! I agree with what you said about everyday uniform feeling less smart, I don't wear a suit very often so it'll help with the interview mindset definitely!

    DMI dress code

Thank you everyone, being a lass I might skip on the tie and pocket square side of things but I'll certainly dust my best jacket and trousers off!

    DMI dress code

Hi all, I've been invited to attend a DMI soon and was wondering if anyone could tell what people tend to wear? I'm an internal applicant so for all other stages I've worn my uniform, but on the email for this one it states "smart standard of dress". Would it be more advisable to wear a suit...

    First Group Trainee Train Drivers

Hi all, just wondering how long it takes to get results after you've completed both online assessments. Online it just says I've completed both and nothing else. Many thanks!

    International Coupon between countries

Hi all, just wondering if someone could answer my possibly stupid question. I'm travelling to Frankfurt next Tuesday via Eurostar to Brussels. My train from Brussels is a direct ICE to Frankfurt. I've got two international coupons, one valid for DB AG, and one valid for SNCB NMBS. My question...

GWR: Front set lead customer host

Morning, it basically means you're the 'go to' person in the front 5 carriages. We can check first class tickets however we can't do anything about it if they want to upgrade which makes it seem a bit redundant! Not sure if they will train us in the future for that though. We're in charge of...
