Dear All, Does anyone know why GWR are not releasing tickets down to Cornwall between Wednesday 9 August until Monday 14 August inclusive https://www.gwr.com/your-tickets/choosing-your-ticket/advance-tickets With best wishes, JC

ORR opens consultation on changing when timetable information is confirmed

It would be great if there was absolute transparency about how advance fares are released and priced

ORR opens consultation on changing when timetable information is confirmed

Quite right-- the DFT ministers hide behind Network Rail and Network Rail hide behind DFT. There should be a 'commissioner for the railways' appointed by the Secretary of State and that is where the buck stops. This proposal is going completely in the wrong direction; timetables should be...

Adding Apple Pay card to TfL account

    Thank you! I'll give it a go 1682230052 It didn't work :(

Adding Apple Pay card to TfL account

Yes, I tried that but it has singularly failed for me despite removing and adding the card multiple times.

Adding Apple Pay card to TfL account

Is anyone aware of a potential problem with registering on the contactless website whilst using an apple iphone as it appears impossible to recover the full 16 digit code from the apple phone?

    Southeastern - Timetable change

I am interested in what it is about the SE services and TL services which meant they could not be timetabled with even 15 minute gaps. I can even forgive the reduction to 4tph given the Elizabeth line and Covid recovery, it’s the 24 minute gap I cannot comprehend.

    Southeastern - Timetable change

Even though I'm someone who benefits (significantly) from the Thameslink Greenwich service, I think it should be withdrawn and Thameslink should run 12tph to Gatwick and 12tph to Brighton only. https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/fixing-thameslink.240434/

    Southeastern - Timetable change

What is the possible justification for this gap. I simply cannot comprehend the gap. I can understand the rationalisation of services and termini but why why why have a 24 minute gap which is essentially the same as reducing the service to 2tph (most people do not check timetables or want to)...

Timetables set 18/24 months into the future

Could we ever reach a position where railway timetables are fixed 18/24 months into the future... i.e. I could book my train travel for summer 2025 now. I'm trying to book tickets for this half-term and I'm amazed that some of the timetables are not confirmed yet. I've ended up booking a...

Connecting Northern City Line to Greenwich Line

What research is there on how much commuters hate changing trains. I know that every time there is a proposal to simplify termini south of the river, NOMCYs (not on my commute) speak up and say ‘I simply cannot be expected to change at Lewisham/London Bridge/Blackfriars). 1672664796 For Drayton...

    Fixing Thameslink

But why remove the resilience and redundancy that comes with additional platforms should Thameslink snarl up. Is the cost of maintaining that additional track and set of point that it warrants removal?

    Fixing Thameslink

If there was insufficient space at King’s Cross, why did they then remove track at platforms 9 to 11?

    Fixing Thameslink

Controversial opinion alert: they should get rid of all crossing moves at Lewisham Second controversial opinion alert: that logic applies with equal force to the Greenwich Thameslink services crossing outside London Bridge (as well as the E+C Thameslink crossing outside Blackfriars).

    Fixing Thameslink

Why does the Lewisham scheme result in 23 minute gaps on the Greenwich line?

    Fixing Thameslink

But then it would be a high reliability, high capacity service with 24 trains an hour through the core with considerably less interaction with other lines.

    Fixing Thameslink

Am I the only one who thinks Thameslink is a bit of a damp squid with insufficient frequencies and poor reliability. To start I’d… a) stop any trains to or from elephant castle going through the core b) create a separate Wimbledon loop line and hand it over to TFL c) stop Thameslink trains...
