First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

Speaking of Bath deckers, I struggle to believe that 33497 from Bristol is doing a Bath U1 today. Feel free to prove me wrong!

First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

The Exeter open tops are used so little as it is anyway, I don't really see the point of having them. Usually an E400 does the circuit most days. Unfortunately I can't see that being a sustainable service in the future. The Dartmoor Explorer likewise. I keep trying to do a trip on that on a...

Stagecoach South West - Fleet News & Discussion

I'd imagine they'd take a Solo from Exeter, especially given the fact more of them are now in working order. No doubt it would be based at Tiverton outstation (although I don't know what the capacity of that is). On an unrelated note, I rode on the 95 for the first time this year yesterday...

Stagecoach South West - Fleet News & Discussion

It was mentioned: "New Service 44/44A will operate between Exeter and Honiton / Axminster under contract to Devon County Council, providing a replacement for current Service 4/4A/4B." Essentially the 44 is the 4A renumbered, albeit running down London Road in Cranbrook (as per the current 1905...

So the 4 isn't being axed beyond Cranbrook, merely being replaced by the new 44/44A. If anything this is a slight improvement between Exeter-Cranbrook with 5bph at times (albeit up to 2 only serving the main road). It will also mean a faster service for passengers from Ottery etc.

E200 44526 worked a Bath 6/7/11/12 diagram last week. I didn't think that this was possible due to tight clearances on the 7. Has something changed recently or was this a complete fluke?

    GWR Class 165/166 Turbo Diagrams

I noticed 166217 made it to Plymouth this morning on 2C05, with passengers needing to change there onto a Castle HST to continue to Penzance. Might this be the first 166 that's operated to Plymouth in passenger service?

Looks as if 37326 & 37626 have both been sent to Bath to cover shortages now that the Unis are back.

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

This was a problem for virtually every vehicle that had it. There were subtle differences in the paintwork on the old bendibuses if you looked closely. Looked like they used one shade to repaint the first couple, and another for the rest!

Unexpected repaint : 33949 has gone into BathCity Blue!

Stagecoach South West - Fleet News & Discussion

I note there was a fire on a bus near Ottery on Wednesday, which burnt it out completely. Looking the tracker details it would appear to be 36250 that was involved.

I think 69253 is the only older bodied B7RLE still active (excluding trainers) now. Most of the HE ones don't appear to be out currently.

Weird thing about these is that the branding is just plain "Citylines" . Whether anything will be added in due course I do not know.

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

This hasn't been reported here yet, but 39472 has been repainted into a rather smart looking "Pride" livery. It now seems to work the 1/2/2a rather than it's original 73 as well!

Interestingly former WoE 32329/30/43 have all received familiar new numberplates down in Weymouth. 32329 - 620 HOD (former 32001) 32330 - KFX 791 (former 32006) 32343 - TPR 354 (former 32007) With WYY 752 & RKZ 4760 having been previously mentioned as already in use by two open tops down...

Trivia: The train to 'XXX', calling at 'XXX'

The other obvious ones I can think of are the loop services out of Cannon Street on the Southeastern, which are normally advertised as terminating at Crayford, Barnehurst or Slade Green. There was a period where they were shown as going to Cannon Street throughout, which probably caused too much...

    GWR Class 165/166 Turbo Diagrams

Would Bristol/Westbury drivers even still have 150s on their traction cards? Or would the previous history/similarity to 158s count towards that?

    GWR Class 165/166 Turbo Diagrams

I went on the Newquay branch today (hence my observations on my route to get there) and it is being doubled up this year, at least on Saturdays. A set works a 2N02 from Exeter, which attaches to the unit which stables overnight in Par on the second trip up the branch.

    GWR Class 165/166 Turbo Diagrams

Thanks for clarifying. Today things didn't seem to run per plan, and the 2F05 was seemingly worked by a pair of 150s (was also started from WSM, presumably linked to the traction swap). The two turbos were 166212, which started on 2T02 from Exeter & 166207 which followed 30 mins behind on 2T03...

    GWR Class 165/166 Turbo Diagrams

I note now that there's a now a regular 2F05 from Temple Meads - Exmouth early on the morning, which is obviously the way the 2nd Avocet Turbo gets down to Devon. My assumption then based on the previous scheduled diagrams is that the two turbos are then in sequence on the Exmouth branch for the...
