South Western Railway - a mixed start to life as a TOC?

There's no way the timetable can be squeezed to allow 4tph on each route. From VXH to WIM trains are often every 3-4 minutes apart. I've seen a few 707 on them routes. I think during the peak one is Epsom, Hampton Court, Strawberry hill and Dorking but couldn't tell ya what time!

South Western Railway franchise could be under threat

Wow! It kinda does look like it tbh but would like to know why you think that!

Discussion of not advertising departure platforms until a few minutes before departure

From experience they usually board vulnerable/wheelchair passengers before the platform is announced . They all have access to the p2 so they should know where the train is before it's annouced instead of relying on the departure boards. Just poor planning if this isn't the case...

    SWR heat related speed restrictions

Ah okay. From my memory the 02 and 32 used to come empty from Clapham Yard. Even checked an old loading book back in 2017 and this was the case. My apologies

    SWR heat related speed restrictions

Doesn't the 02 and 32 come from Clapham Yard unless it's changed now????

    SWR heat related speed restrictions

Doesn't make sense to cancel the 16.20. Would have made better sense to cancel the 17.02 as that's just an additional peak service. Or cancel the 16.50.

South Western Railway - a mixed start to life as a TOC?

I think it's understandable for Waterloo not to have much information. The platform staff there are only in charge of their platform so hard for them to know/see what's happening everywhere else. Most trains have the TRTS (train ready to start) from what I sow on the p2 yet some were waiting for...

South Western Railway - a mixed start to life as a TOC?

I'm sure under SWT whenever there was an incident they usually cancelled everything for a short while, enough for them to recover, then send trains along their way.

    Recruitment flawed?

Yes this is it. Also may I add, if there was a case of positive discrimination then by theory there would be an influx of ethnic minorities and females in the driving workforce but yet the workforce is still very much white. So I still don't see how a white male is underprivileged!!

SWR Trainee Drivers at Staines, Woking and Waterloo

All I know is waterloo is on hold because they are prioritising other depots. What depots? No clue. However if you call up HR they should be able to tell you if you have passed the application stage and thus waiting for an assessment date in due course

SWR Trainee Drivers at Staines, Woking and Waterloo

Oh, I'm very surprised you didn't pass the application stage at the very least to be honest. The role is somewhat similar - able to concentrate for a long period of time, route learning and safety. There is a learner driver who passes through my workplace and he used to be a bus driver too...

SWR Trainee Drivers at Staines, Woking and Waterloo

Not too far. You drive? Regardless that journey shouldn't have exceeded 45 mins by bus in early morning. Honestly, apply for anything in the role and work your way up. Good way to get experience and know the company. I know a few colleagues who started off as gateline or ro2 and they are now...

SWR Trainee Drivers at Staines, Woking and Waterloo

Yeah two jobs of mine was over lapping so it didn't send it so I checked it. So stupid! I applied for customer ambassador at Clapham Junction. Are you internal or external candidate? How far do you live btw? I have heard they filter out people based on travel and if they are able to get here for...

Does anyone else a red box when they try to apply roles on swr website???

SWR Trainee Drivers at Staines, Woking and Waterloo

Like another member posted, having been on the phone to HR i can confirm they are currently prioritising other depots so anyone who has applied for Waterloo will not hear anything for a while...
