Unit 333015 has been ‘dumped’ at the back of the sidings at Skipton for at least 2 weeks now. Has it broken down, in which case why has it not been shifted to Neville Hill for repair? This unit is still in Metro livery. When will it be refurbished?
It was yesterday I thought I saw the 3 car 333 between Keighley and Skipton. Mind you i was driving on the Aire Valley road and it was a brief sideways glance:

The pantograph on a four car formation is in the middle of the train. The train I saw had the pantograph next to one of the driving cars and the train was shorter that usual.
I believe that at least one class 333 is presently running as a 3 car unit. Does anybody know which unit(s) is/are involved? Originally the 333's were delivered to WY Metro as 3 car units until the SY transport paid for the fourth carriages.
I am surprised that no external body side cameras are fitted. If the 333 units become DOO. How will the driver see whether the doors are clear to close, especially at curved platform stations like Shipley and Keighley?
Does anybody know whether the class 333 units have any DOO modifications whilst being overhauled at Holbeck and Neville Hill (such as the installation of train cameras and cab monitors for driver door operation. Moving the door opening buttons to the drivers cab etc)
Class 333 units are supposed to be refurbished and Arriva said that all 16 would be refurbished in 2018. So far there seems to be no sign of any unit having been refurbished or repainted into the Northern Rail, white livery. When will this start?
When the Crossrail units rake over the services from Paddington to Heathrow, presumably the class 332 units and the Desiro units will becomes surplus to requirements. Does anybody know what will happen to these units when they are retired?
When you say ‘dogbox’, are you referring to the use of class 153 units on certain formations? I don’t think I have seen a 153 for some time on Settle Carlisle services.
My first rolling stock that I remember travelling on was on LT District Line trains from, Hornchurch, Essex. These were clestory roofed units dating back to pre Second World War. The year was 1953. I also remember travelling on LMS steam carriages that ran on the LTS line to Fenchurch Street and...
I was amused to hear that LOR are considering using one solitary class 315 unit for the Romford Upminster service when the rest of the units have been taken out of service. Why not use the restored class 306 unit once in a while?
I was interested to read the feeds about rolling stock for the Leeds to Morcambe services. This is very much a “Cinderella” service and has always been at the butt end when rolling stock is allocated. It isn’t heavily used and therefore class 150, 155 or 156 units would be adequate following the...
