Procedure for driving on rarely used / rusty track

The level crossings in Dereham were equipped with stainless steel zig zag welds on the rail head until the mid norfolk railway removed them a year ago. The line only saw 1 train a month in the late 80s.

    Great Yarmouth carriage sidings

A Mk2 BSO Arrived at Yarmouth Carriage Sidings a couple of weeks ago, following a period of storage on the Mid Norfolk Railway.

    Great Yarmouth carriage sidings

The thought of mk2s being stored there is a nice one, as its nice to see sidings that were desolate for years finally being used again. I heard through the pipeline it's something to do with eastern rail services and the mid norfolk. Whatever it is it's good to see.

    Great Yarmouth carriage sidings

Rumour has it that apparently some mk2 coaches are going to be stationed here as well? I wonder if one of the reasons for these coaches being kept in reserve here is in case the new trains fail and GA should need to borrow them back in an emergency?

The Terror of Class 153 Rail Travel

I can only say one thing; good riddance to them. I commute regularly on the east suffolk line and my heart used to sink everytime I saw it pull in at ipswich and a massive great crowd around me. I am autistic and don't cope in the centre of a massive crowd, and I remember the stupidity of some...

Abellio Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

The simple fact is that greater anglia have developed a reputation of lying through the back of their teeth. Regarding the signalling problem, are they seriously illuding to freightliner, gbrf, east midlands trains, and others being able to fly or jump over the bad signals? I commute on the...

    Greater Anglia Rolling Stock Updates

I have just found a picture of 156412 in the fuel siding in Ipswich, from last week. Do Greater Anglia Trains use that fuel point often in addition to Crown Point? I look forward to seeing the 755's on the felixtowe line this week. I enjoyed a wonderful 17:17 Trip to Lowestoft last week twice...

Wherry Lines infrastructure and line speed

The track layout at Reedham was rationalised to a basic layout, and both of the disused sidings have been taken up, this was done in October. I see they have taken up a large part of the old yard at Lowestoft, and it looks like the remaining sidings leading to the main road (the old docks line)...

Abellio Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

I just had a look at one of the new units on twitter, they don't look half bad actually. When do they enter service after arriving in October? Also, on passing crown point a few minutes ago I saw the centre carriage of class 170202. It's been there for over two months. Anyone know why it's...

5x Class 153 conversion to bike and baggage vans for Scotrail

Just a point that I feel should be reflected - The Railways Are Nationalised. They are owned and maintained by Network Rail, Which is, or was when I last looked, an arms length public body. What they do not do is the undertaking of Railway Services. That is done by private companies.
