After working for the London ambulance service previously, the traffic one is a great point. Also now its less of a concern people will start ringing ambulances again and won't be so concerned about going to hospital as the fear factor seems to be dying down a bit.

Annual leave is rostered mainly to be at certain times a year. But it's fairly easy to swap with other drivers. On the plus side your always guaranteed your time off but not necessarily when you want it. Shifts are a bit more over the place but it's not really that different from NHS shifts...
