TfW to operate Class 37s on the Rhymney Line

The Saturday loco-hauled service was scheduled, but hasn’t been run with a loco. I understand that this may continue to run with units.

TfW to operate Class 37s on the Rhymney Line

I have seen photos people have taken from passing trains in the past. I don’t know if they are always in the same position.

TfW to operate Class 37s on the Rhymney Line

I'll be out for 37421 to get to work in Cardiff. 37025 would be nicer though!

I have been informed that the 1746 was a unit.

TfW to operate Class 37s on the Rhymney Line

37421 was solo, nothing on the back. I don’t have any info on the 1746. Yes, I expect Bingley Main Street looks completely different now!

TfW to operate Class 37s on the Rhymney Line

I lived in Bingley for a while until 2001. I used to work at Bradford & Bingley, also until 1996 (showing my age!). 37421 is working the 2R20 1701 Cardiff Central to Rhymney tonight.

Sorry to hear. Whereabouts in West Yorkshire? I moved from West Yorkshire two years ago to South Wales, from near Keighley.

TfW to operate Class 37s on the Rhymney Line

Thank you both. Any news on what happened? I believe the training runs had run okay.

TfW to operate Class 37s on the Rhymney Line

After Bargoed, 37418 didn’t sound too healthy. Seemed to take a while to gather power after each station.

TfW to operate Class 37s on the Rhymney Line

37418 with 37025 are currently heading north on 2R24 1746 Cardiff Central to Rhymney.

TfW to operate Class 37s on the Rhymney Line

37421 has continued working each morning and evening. 37418 had problems and was taken off last Wednesday. 37025 hasn’t run either. It appears to me that 37418 and 37025 are being kept as a pair. Neither have run since then. (Not sure about the 17:46 this evening)

TfW to operate Class 37s on the Rhymney Line

Hello everyone, This thread seems very quiet lately... Does anyone know if there is another thread regarding the 37s on the Rhymney line? Also could there be websites where up-to-date information can be found regarding the loco allocations and their status? Thanks, Paul

TfW to operate Class 37s on the Rhymney Line

TfW to operate Class 37s on the Rhymney Line

It will be interesting to see what configurations run in the morning. Whether 37025 runs alone, and 418 runs with 421 on tow as backup, or do they keep the original formations?

TfW to operate Class 37s on the Rhymney Line

It must have been before the tunnel, as cancelled at Caerphilly, travelling south.

I have been informed that apparently it was a problem with the lights inside.
