Olympian Louis Smith alleges discriminatory VTEC ticket check

Thank you kindly. It wasn't until his last tweet that he tagged us in, so I didn't get wind of it until it had already gained some attention but I worked as quickly as possible.

Passengers mixing up TOCs on Twitter

From what I've experienced, customers that don't travel often tend to confuse who they've booked with against who they've travelled with. So they might have travelled with Northern or TransPennine but because they've booked with Virgin Trains East Coast, they'll complain to us. Of course...

VTEC: Missing the first class quiet coach already!

The Azuma is going to have less 1st class space now than you currently have. As much as people may like the quiet coach, ain't no way they can get away with putting a quiet coach on the new trains.

Virgin Trains East Coast franchise to end 24 June 2018 and is temporarily re-nationalised

Free travel is the only benefit I use, so that's good with me! Ah yes, I forgot about Tribe...that goes as well, but I never had access to that in the first place so I'm not bothered. There was also free Duty/Residential travel on Northern (between YRK-LDS) and on GTR for somewhere (don't...

Virgin Trains East Coast franchise to end 24 June 2018 and is temporarily re-nationalised

No temporary deal. Free travel on VTWC and EMT ends the moment the franchise changes hands. No real guarantee yet on whether the other travel benefits for VTEC staff will continue, i.e. free travel on all VTEC services.

    Virgin East Coast Twitter

It's not a regular staffer, it is something we've noticed and it is also something that we'll be discussing with the individual concerned.

    2330 Kings Cross - Leeds diverted (10/04)

Yeah. Repairs to the OHLE meant it was diverted via the full joint line from Peterborough.

New seat reservation displays on existing LNER trains

I literally thought for a moment you were a mind reader! Didn't realise all was revealed on our website. From what I understand this is a dry run, with a view to implementing it into Azuma once the technology proves itself, so I'm curious to see it in action. Not to be critical of our guard...

    Funny rail notices

I've always found VTEC's posters rather amusing! This is before I started to work for them as well, perhaps I just have a terrible sense of humour!

New seat reservation displays on existing LNER trains

They will be used for seat reservations! There is also another feature built into it which is quite good and has been worked on for about 2 years by our innovation team, not sure if it's public knowledge yet though!

    Virgin East Coast Twitter

Good Morning, It was me that wrote that tweet so I'd like to explain my reasoning and rationality. Something unfortunately the writer of the article did not give me the opportunity to do before insinuating I'm unhinged. The Rail Industry in general is trying to make awareness of Mental Health...

Why are Virgin trains so precious about their wifi?

Areet ECRewards. I'm here in a personal context, but happy to answer any questions people have about VTEC (that I may know the answer to) so I've made it clear that I'm ^BG. :) Cheers for the avatar!

Why are Virgin trains so precious about their wifi?

You'll need to take that up with Virgin Trains, Llanigraham. I'm a VTEC'er.

Why are Virgin trains so precious about their wifi?

We do have on-going work to improve the Wi-Fi onboard the current fleet (as some sets are remaining when the Azuma comes in) however the Wi-Fi on the new Azuma is said to be much, much better than the current offering.
