It's okay now. Avanti have said people with tickets dated during the strike days can travel on any day so I'm going to go on Thursday night instead. :)

I can honestly the count the number of times the 0703 from Chorley to Manchester Piccadilly has run last month on the my hand. It's atrocious. To add insult to injury they cancel the 1702 on the way back on the regular too.

Avanti advising nothing going north until at least 12pm tomorrow.

There should be staff on the platforms managing the crowds through announcements and roped, queuing systems (like at the UK Border at airports) if necessary. It's just too chaotic and someone is going to get hurt.

Why can't some of the routes which go through the Castlefield Corridor, particularly Blackpool North and Southport, instead go to Manchester Victoria?

I think there's been one under, sadly. No Avanti services going through Coventry now.

Whenever I've left the card I used to purchase the ticket with at home the ticket office staff have always managed to print my tickets for me if I can provide them with the collection reference and the last 4 digits the card number. So, it's possible as long as you have those details to hand.

Thank you for the advice everyone. I have purchased tickets via the Renfe website and they've come as e-tickets with barcodes on. I'm assuming we can just get on the train with these and don't have to collect anything at the train station?
