I'm quite a big fan of the new Northern livery, something about the way the white contrasts with the blue just looks better to me than the previous iteration. Personal favourite has to be the current TPE livery, which manages to look absolutely stunning on both the 185s and all the new stock.

I've always had an admiration for the 91s, so personally it will be sad to see them come to their end. As for the Mk4s, I don't imagine it would take major work to convert them to operate with other locos. Simply because they're about to hit 30 doesn't mean they should instantly be sidelined...

What about Alliance Rail? They were proposing to use 225 sets for their GNWR Euston - Blackpool North services, yet it's been the best part of a year since their website or social media has been updated. Are talks still in progress there or has this been shelved?
