Archway going in for it, according to their director on Facebook It has now been confirmed that Blackpool have handed it back, given the history of this service it is an easy assumption that something more serious had happened. I'd be shocked if Preston Bus got it back.

    Derailment near Grange Over Sands

I'm convinced I've been on a train that's turned at Arnside before. I don't remember much but I recall it only using the far/Lancaster-bound platform. If my memory is correct, I wonder if this can be done again.

Network Rail removes Islamic message on King's Cross display boards after fierce criticism

During Easter, Christmas, yes, if they're putting Islamic text on there it should be the same for Bible verses

Network Rail removes Islamic message on King's Cross display boards after fierce criticism

Didn't see much issue with it and would expect to see Catholic scripture when it's relevant too. Obviously if it wasn't approved then the people responsible will justifiably have action taken against them but on the surface it just strikes as people looking for something to be offended about.

Companies That You Expect to Disappear Soon

I have never seen anyone buy anything from Razzmatazz. I don't think I've ever even seen anyone else in there! I don't get its market, all generic merch that would make up the tat sections in HMV and MenKind if Weymouth had them. Nostalgia Unlimited is a gem of a shop, just a bit hard to get...

    Blackpool Transport Discussion

It's a shame because some of the rebranding ideas were good. "Take any 5" to the Victoria Hospital made sense for one. The 7 going into the 11b and 9 renumbering to 7b are silly in comparison. We can now see it has been a failure which is even more a shame because Blackpool Transport are...

Festive messages on destination screens (2023)

I've nearly let at least 2 buses go because I couldn't see the destination. Believe one at Salford one near Blackpool? There's no excuse for the number not being permanently visible.

Derby to Preston - valid routes?

Absolutely - my outbound involves changes at Oxford Road, Piccadilly, Sheffield and Derby. The only one that's available Sunday morning! Via Birmingham also makes sense. Appreciate it

Derby to Preston - valid routes?

Hi all, I'm in an interesting situation on Monday. I have an open ticket from Derby to Preston. The ticket I have involves a seat reservation, I'd change at Tamworth and Crewe. (16:39-18:51) I'm not sure when I'll be leaving Derby hence the open ticket, what other routes are valid? I would be...

https://www.blackpooltransport.com/your-routes-reimagined-january-2024 Blackpool Transport are completely revamping their network using grouped buses (5/5A/5B/5C etc) for familiarity and changing some routes to reflect this.

    This is a scam, right?

It's a pretty obvious scam. I'm not even sure I could list all the giveaways, there's too many of them. I do agree more needs to be done, it isn't as easy as just removing them from Google or Facebook as they'll keep coming back no matter what. A lawsuit could help if the evidence for who did...

Companies That You Expect to Disappear Soon

I will always go for a look in HMV (I collect media) but outside of clearance sales the prices of DVDs and Blu-Rays is always terrible value for money. We're talking triple what CEX want in some cases. With the rise in streaming, and the new merch being the same as most other stores, I'm...

Stagecoach Merseyside Cheshire and South Lancashire

Chaos this morning as a crash at a major choke point, and the impact of being double decker on these routes, has led to some significant diversions on the 61 and 68. The highlight has to be this one: https://bustimes.org/vehicles/scmy-15823?date=2023-08-10#journeys/462529756

    Remaining Effects of Covid

I was on a bus the other week that had a Yellow Buses promo on the back... Yellow Buses does not exist any more, nor is it in Lancashire. ---- I think the way things are now are quite good, I have started to carry cash around me as a number of claw machines have popped up including one I'm...

    Trivia : Historical/Current services that duplicate school/colleges

Preston Bus formerly operated services 31 and 88 at peak times that entered the grounds of local schools. I believe the 88 is still in operation but no announcement has been changed as to whether the new 48 will replicate this. (typical Rotala) Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire operate...
