Recently travelled London to Marseille and bought full return travel on Eurostar website.
1st complaint is the travel across Paris from Nord to Gare Lyon isn't included and this isn't mentioned anywhere on on obvious.
The main problem though is that there wasn't time for the connection and the...
Hi
Is there anywhere I can check if I can split an off peak return to save? All the splitting apps I have tried seem to come up with options with advance tickets but I need off peak flexibility. Thanks.
Is it time now to make it compulsory to have a ticket before travel. I know very small stations don't have ticket machines but now that nearly everyone has a smartphone it would make things simpler if you had to buy an e-ticket. Less work for guards, and less fare evasion or unintended non...
Seems a bit unfair that one TOC would have to fork out for a whole journey if just their small bit in the middle was delayed. Someone might go from Scotland to the South Coast and the delay could be caused by one very short leg in the middle but that TOC would have to cover the whole journey?
Why are train drivers paid what most members of the public feel is a very high wage? Surely with so many applicants the jobs would be filled whatever the wage! Is it the unions?
Why is the fee for changing trains so high at £30 per standard ticket (£40 for standard premier), and there is NO option at all to cancel, even if it's many months before the travel date? Is there any way around this?
If you have an advance ticket but the 1st part of the journey will be a rail replacement bus due to engineering works what is the situation? If you get a bus at the time on the ticket you will end up on a train that will get to your destination much later than the planned train. Does the...
I've noticed that if needing to get to another Z1 station in London it's cheaper to use a contactless card than have it added to a rail ticket. This was with GWR to Paddington. Is this always the case, and why?
National rail app is showing GWR bus replacements around Bath on May 11th but SWR trains are still showing as running. Does anyone know if the line is completely closed or if SWR trains will be buses as well?
Thanks
Won't these result in more fare dodging? Could someone depart from a non barrier station that does has ticket machines and then only buy an e-ticket if a guard is checking tickets?
https://www.metro.news/train-firm-gives-travellers-sensitive-way-to-find-a-seat/1302769/
From reading it the description is just of the traffic light system on GWR IETs, but also mentions sensors. Do the lights turn red when someone sits down, or has Metro got it wrong?
I've received a voucher code as delay repay. Can I use the code several times to buy cheaper tickets or do I have to use it all in one transaction, therefore waiting till I need to buy a ticket for more than the voucher value.
Thanks
I've used these in the past successfully but just bought a ticket for next week and the e-ticket shows as blank when I open it in the app. Anyone know what's happened here? Thanks.
Having seen 166s appear around Bristol and used them a few times I'd have to say they're no better than the trains they have replaced. What is the point in this?
Hi
If in Holland making 3 single journeys on different days what is the best way to minimise card charges as the machines seem to charge 1euro extra each time. Is it possible to pay cash with no charge or buy all 3 tickets in one card transaction and pay 1euro instead of 3?
Thanks
