Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Buses are allocated to drivers in the mornings by the gateman. You check the run out sheet for your block number/time due out the garage and it tells you your bus and what bay its parked in in the depot. Even for doing a changeover you're generally told which bus to take.

I'm led to believe the decker order for this year will be fully B5TL. No B8L's unfortunately due to extra cost.

186-190 have only been moved to central to run the 30 on Boxing Day and 1st/2nd Jan. They're just being used on the 1 and 24 so they don't need to move them back to Marine for a few days

More than likely just a temporary measure while 195-199 get upgraded to Euro 6.

Thanks for clarifying. I'd thought it was 30 this year with another 30 in the new year. All B5's next year? Heard there weren't going to be any more XLB's.

Any more Evora's due next year on top of the 30 going out soon?

Regarding the turn at the top of P-Pans for the XLBs, I believe if they were to meet another bus they’d have to do a loop around where the 124 goes and back on route from there. Similar to what the 24s do at the Grange Loan if they meet a bus in the wrong place, just loop the 41 route.

Any idea why 231-235 are at Ferrymill?

The bunching/ gaps in service are nothing to do with the tri-axles entering service, it has been more of an issue since the 14th July when the times were cut by 3 mins in each direction plus the festival traffic being worse this year

    West Lothian buses

Other way round Jordan, LCB are doing fine for staff, as they have drivers on loan to ECB as well as several seconded to EBT. With regard to Lothian vehicles in West Lothian, it is just to make up the numbers, Lothian drivers don't do LCB.

Can we please all get over this strange obsession with Aaron Lodge Guest House?!

No, if Marine drivers are working they would go to central and they try and give them routes they know

With regard to the 100 seater ADL's I reckon it will be 30 for traffic and 12 for airlink. Think the 11 and 37 would be a good choice as they could chop a few of the peak runs from them. Could even reroute the 11 to go Leith Walk, Great Junction Street, Western Harbour and the 10 to go down...

Forthcoming ADL order is for all double deckers I believe

I think the 36 is staying the same given previous registrations have said Glenlockhart. 300 will run normal route to Bristo Place then either Chambers Street or Nicholson Square to Cameron Toll. Also, one of the ex-Londons has been seen at Wrights in Lothian Country livery - possible West...
