    I'm sure that this option could be taken by the Scottish Govt or Transport for Scotland. It makes sense to standardise now that the 385 is proving so reliable and all the teething issues have been overcome.

    It all makes sense, standardise carriage length and ensure that different trains can be used with each other for flexibility. Definitely a case for a different layout in places, the AT100 or AT200 with a urban setup. Standardisation helping with driver training and maintenance. The 385 is...

    In the long term, doesn't it make more sense to have more units from one manufacturer. The 385's are proving very reliable, the issues have been overcome and from a maintenance and training point of view it would be more efficient.

    It always make sense to engage with drivers. Surely draughts and heating are issues that could be resolved. From what I understand Hitachi are usually keen to overcome issues like these?

    I agree, no rattles at all on any that I've been on. I don't find the seats hard either, comfortably firm imo.

    Very true! It would be good to get the last delivered and the final 3 into service in plenty of time for the timetable change. I think that 441001 and 002 have already done the accumulation miles as they were test vehicles, so they could be put into service fairly quickly tbf.

    Hopefully, they need to get all units in service before the timetable change as it should ensure a smoother switchover :-)
