Just to clear things up, I have no problem with anyone joining the railway be that ex police, fire, military, ambulance or any other profession. As long as they come into the role with an open mind and are willing to learn and put the hard work in. My posts may have come across a little harsh...

I'm sorry to sound harsh but YES you should have known that the above would occur, I would know that and I don't know anything about your industry.

Ask yourself this question would you do the job for £20k per year? I bet the answer would be NO for the majority. So you're applying for a train driver role based on the salary (which is fine) but if you REALLY wanted to do the role then surely you would have been a train driver before...
