    Guard with SWT info please.

    1. I cant remember the exact percentages but I believe you pay 8.48% and SWR pay in 12.50% 3. Believe you need to do 6 months before you'll be considered for the Commercial grade. Might be a bit of a queue for it as a lot of Guards see it as the next step. I'm a recently productive Commercial...

    Commerical Guard

Congratulations, I'm not sure which trains Staines or Strawberry Hill cover but I would imagine you'll have to learn most of them which stretches the training out a bit but 8 weeks is about right. After you've done that you'll begin route learning which is around 4-6 weeks once that's finished...

Question regarding sickness days and applying for a new job

Different TOC but when I had my medical I had to provide details of any periods of sickness in the last 2 calendar years and discuss them with the Doctor so that could work in your favour if its the same as a Doctor would be more understanding of how tricky a chest infection can be to shake.

    Pregnant!

As I think someone else said its worth doing anyway as if you pass it but didn't do so well at the interview stage you already have a pass for the assessments if you apply again later. Good luck

Yeah I had two people interviewing...

Hey guys, I'm still in training and planning to join a union after my commercial course is completed. I still won't be productive at that point as I'll need to do my route learning. Basically my question is if I join while still on my training wage do I then need to contact them and let them...

    Commerical Guard

Yeah I just went with the figures for number of passengers and trains running from Waterloo and Basingstoke(I originally applied for a role there because it was advertised as a higher wage but turns out they are the same and Farnham is closer for me and meant an earlier start date so they asked...

    Commerical Guard

Thanks, it was at Southampton just down the corridor from where they do the assessment. It lasted around an hour all in all maybe a tiny bit over. Also forgot to say before but its worth trying to learn some of the start/end points of the trains they operate as they asked me about the different...

    Commerical Guard

Hi Gemma, I've recently been offered the position of commercial guard at Farnham will begin my training at the start of September. The interview began with them asking me about what I know about SWR and my suitability for the role(shift patterns, how you'd relax after an especially stressful...
