MTR Crossrail Trainee Driver (Multiple Locations)

I started last month mate and doesn’t sound like anything for the east will be coming up anytime soon! Quite a few trainees at the minute who all applied for Ilford or Gidea Park and have all been given Abbeywood. Where are you based? Would you accept Abbeywood? Have you ever contacted them and...

@Anders99 put a good message up further up the page about DMI. The key is to do your research and without sounding rude to anyone - you need to do it for yourself so that it sinks in and you can repeat it all back on the day! Look at MTR Crossrail and the crossrail project in general. Google it...

Congratulations mate! I’m another one who applied for gidea park and got offered Abbeywood! I had my DMI in March. I was pretty lucky and got told I passed and offered a start date about an hour later and now start next month! Did they say when they would be back in contact? It did seem that...

You sit the 3 computer based tests one after the other, takes about an hour! Then wait outside for results! If you fail any of them you are sent home. Those who are successful are then given a sheet with 6 questions on and you have to write a sentence on each. Then it’s lunch and come back about...

Slightly random questions for current trainees? Had uniform fitting last week. Did people go for the shoes or boots? Not sure if I messed up going for the shoes! And do you have to wear them all the time or are you ok with your own pair for classroom based learning? Cheers

Are you training with another company already mate? Would you be willing to drop that and cross over to MTR given the chance? I remember talking to you a while back and thought we had our DMI same time back in March?

I’m starting August aswell mate! An old work colleague who joined crossrail about 4 years ago told me not to worry about anything for the first day! The stuff for DMI was mainly to show you’re keen to get the job and not necessarily important for when we start. Personally I plan on enjoying my...

Congratulations mate! The gaps between round starts getting a bit longer now! After my assessment day it was 7 weeks till the next round (MMI) and then after that you wait about another 6-7 weeks to hear about booking in the final DMI. So you might be looking at next year for a start...

I took my Oyster card forms up this week and spoke to Will the main recruitment guy! He just said medical results will be fed back once they have all your references in etc! And then uniform is within last month...basically so that it’ll fit in case people gain/lose weight. Everything will...

I shouldn’t moan to much cos although I applied for gidea Park and have been offered Abbey wood so it’s a foot in the door! But why did they advertise for the east when it’s so over established already?! Again I’m pleased to be in but looks like we’ll just be on a very very long transfer list!

MTR Crossrail Trainee Driver (Multiple Locations)

Yeah they aren’t offering east depots out! If you pass (fingers crossed you do) they seem to be offering Abbey Wood to anyone who loves close enough, this is what happened to me! Otherwise you are told you’re in a holding pool!
