McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

Wow the Lothian fanboys don’t realize that competition can be a good thing.

Unless they’re counting on people jumping on the bus where they can get a seat.

I don’t see any red coming through. Only on the inside of a grill at a low angle but that’s barely noticeable.

Ongoing ScotRail disruption - Day to day discussion and updates.

I’m pretty sure the majority of companies make plans on a daily basis to ensure their business runs as much as possible through Covid absences. This includes staff who are only licensed to operate specialized equipment.

Ongoing ScotRail disruption - Day to day discussion and updates.

Well if they were a competent company they would’ve had a plan in place for both eventualities. But as some one stated above they don’t seem to care about anything.

Ongoing ScotRail disruption - Day to day discussion and updates.

I think its absolutely necessary that they run trains so people can get to and from work and actually have social lives which benefit the economy and don’t drive away tourists in their droves.

    Stagecoach West Scotland

Any one else think Stagecoach could be ‘cancelling the service’, so that drastic cuts that they wanted to make, don’t seem so bad when they save the day and ‘reinstate it’? May be I’m too cynical.

    McGill's Buses - Renfrewshire & Inverclyde

I think it depends on your point of view. I think city centre traffic all day can be pretty stressful. Plus they are paid more to give a better level of customer service and maintain the reputation of the city they operate. Do you think a private hire driver should get paid the same as a limo...

    McGill's Buses - Renfrewshire & Inverclyde

It’s not the same job though. Hence why ‘city’ bus driver never usually drive tour buses. It’s usually a different fleet with different drivers.

    McGill's Buses - Renfrewshire & Inverclyde

That doesn’t make sense. Have the mcgills drivers turned against the flixbus drivers? Have the Citybus drivers turned agains the Glasgow sightseeing drivers? Are these the same passengers who want a bus lane on every inch of the city?

    Glasgow bus lane discussion

Exactly. Some people want bus lanes for the sake of bus lanes.

    Glasgow bus lane discussion

I think it would be disastrous to remove the parking bays. Most of the shops would go out of business. Byres road has the subway for people who want to use public transport.

Services/ Links Lost When Companies Were Split Up

Stagecoach Glasgow started with the x25 in the 90’s then added the x25A/ x28 before first pulled out of Cumbernauld depot IIRC.

Services/ Links Lost When Companies Were Split Up

They weren’t renumbered, they were originally competing routes.

I’m sure anyone who is a key worker already knows that and has probably found an alternate way to get to work.

We shouldn’t be persuading people to use buses if they don’t have to END OF. You seem not to have grasped how serious this is. Also the bus companies don’t need feedback from twitter, they know exactly when people have used buses by looking at ticket machine data.
