    Network Rail Recruitment Freeze

No problem, I’ll answer as best I can. Honestly I don’t know, what role did you apply for? I think all jobs will most probably go up internally first but if there isn’t a sufficient amount or non suitable applicants then it will be opened up. I don’t think this is the case with signaller jobs...

    Network Rail Recruitment Freeze

Depends what the role is, I can only really speak for maintenance and a lot of those roles will go internal first but if there isn’t a huge uptake of applicants they may open it to external depending on the exact job being offered.

Application Reassigned to a New Vacancy

Alrighty, that sounds more like it, well done! I’m sure it took less than a week, just keep checking the status and also your email inboxes. What discipline are you going into? If you have any questions in general about maintenance etc feel free to DM me.

Application Reassigned to a New Vacancy

Normally when the status changes to ‘reassigned to new vacancy’ it means you are successful. I know this as its happened to me a few times and some of the guys I work with. I have no idea about the change of location could just be a hr template etc. Drop an email to the contact to whoever you...

Issues with Network Rail Careers Responses

You would think that, but there has been people who have been successful with their interviews and the job has been pulled before a contract was accepted.

Issues with Network Rail Careers Responses

If its with maintenance, there’s supposedly a recruitment freeze on at the moment, so be prepared to wait some more.

    S&T Technician

Have you got an interview? Its quite rare to get one coming from another discipline straight for a technician grade. Sigmaint 2023 for standards, learn the section boundaries, what equipment they have such as type of points and axle counter systems and the basics of them. Learn about what...

Avanti - Trainee Train Drivers - Multiple Locations (28/02/23)

Just pull a good old sicky haha. On a serious note, the last time I dealt with the OPC with an application, I was abroad, couldn’t make the assessment and they were unable to offer me an alternative date.

Avanti - Trainee Train Drivers - Multiple Locations (28/02/23)

Not really, The OPC will maybe have changed their focus to Scottish depots now. Your last hurdle (DMI & medical) is with Avanti not The OPC.

    PTS failed

This is true, remember having to access at Larbert station, stand at safe distance in the cess and watch trains flying past us to get a ‘feel’. Can remember thinking ‘what the hell am I doing here’ was nonsense though as it green zone only up here by then.

    Scotrail Trainee Drivers (Ongoing)

I had a previous conductor application just disappear and never received anything again so I’d assume that it’s unsuccessful sorry to say but it’s definitely worth messaging just to double check. My application is still sitting at submitted and when I emailed recruitment all they gave me was...

Station Grade B - Shunter including relief - Yoker

Hello everyone, I saw this advert on the ScotRail website and a bit confused with the title and salary. If it’s a shunter’s role how can it be a station grade and is the salary of £29,652 not a bit low to be a shunter? Please excuse my ignorance if this all makes sense and it’s just me being...
