    I drive with my iPad on in the cradle beside me. Tells me if am running early/late then allows me to input the reason for delay when safely stopped. Can also be used for filling in emergency working form.

    92023 hauled the empties back to Polmadie once the faulty pan had been removed & a driver resourced. A 92 from Scotland was dispatched south but stopped & returned north at Penrith when the original loco was declared fit to run.

    Scottish Caledonian Sleeper drivers are GBRF drivers. My post was in regards to a crew change on the Fort William portion, I wouldn’t imagine a GBRF driver would be driving a 156 for Scotrail.

    Ground staff with a FOC. We do depot driving also. Train prep out of a worksite involves checking the paperwork matches the wagons involved and the loads, visual inspection of wagons and brakes then a brake test.

    Been trying to get a job in the rail industry for a year: is it worth it?

    Keep at it! I left school unsure what to do, managed to get an apprenticeship on the railway earning 12k a year, now 7 years later and various positions I am waiting on a start date for a trainee driver job. There's a massive amount of staff nearing retirement age so plenty of opportunities...

    I already wear glasses at all times, more the uncorrected vision I was worried about. Yeah think I will get then checked beforehand just to be on the safe side. Would be gutted to fall at the final hurdle.
