4002 has ran since service withdrawl. I’ve been on it during shunting at Gosforth Depot in mid-June 2022. It was never intended for early withdrawl, but given the policies on disabled access set out by the government, and 4002 not meeting the spec, it was cheaper to withdraw it completely...

Any updates on 4083’s in-house refurbishment? Last I heard all the doors were off and it was painted standard black, with the front end still yellow.

Do you have an estimation for 4075 and 4001’s return to service, and also do you know what they’ll do with 4022’s front ends?

I saw that a few days ago. Makes me wonder how the rest of the unit looks now...I dread to imagine.

Update: 4001 now outside of depot, now almost finished (this was 2 days ago) :D

4021 required a rebuild of its front end in early 2019 but I dont know about the others. Could be just spares if they are indeed Metrocar front ends. Or the front ends from 4022...

Do you mean as in one half-section of a single Metrocar?

Hello everyone. Having discussed the refurbishment program with some people, it would appear that 4001 will also have the same flooring work done to 4040/4002 (and 4083 when it’s eventually done, I think it’s currently in Depot receiving the work) however this will not affect the current paint...
