Increasing requests to complete surveys for purchases and services

It`s something I'm starting to get increasingly tired of. In this day and age of social media it`s never been so easy to leave feedback on a company`s Facebook, Twitter, etc. so I really don't feel the need to receive email or text spam or or worst of all a phone call asking me to complete a...

Transport for Wales - Trainee Train Drivers

DMI = Driver Manager Interview. An Interview with a Driver Manager and usually someone from recruitment/HR asking you the usual interview questions (tell me about yourself, what do you know about the company, tell me a time, etc.). I believe this takes place after the psychometric testing. MMI...

Colas Rail UK- Apprentice Train Driver

Tempted to apply but on the (optional) questionnaire it does ask if you'd be ready to start the course in October which given the notice period for my workplace wouldn't be feasible even if I got offered a spot tomorrow.

    TfW Trainee Driver Rejection

I'm not sure how Acorn are dealing with these, it is very unusual to leave the vacancies up for such a long time. Unless they're prioritising certain depots (from my understanding on these threads it looks like Cardiff applicants were the first to hear back) then I can only assume they've put...

    TfW Trainee Driver Rejection

Did you apply for the vacancies advertised in July? From what I've read some who did apply for the July vacancies seemed to have progressed to the assessments stage however there are still quite a few (including myself) waiting to hear back one way or another from the initial questionaire. I...

Transport for Wales - Trainee Train Drivers

Same situation here for Crewe and Shrewsbury.

Transport for Wales - Trainee Train Drivers

I applied for Crewe & Shrewsbury and so far nothing (I applied within a week of the ad going live) with the exception of the automated emails advising that applications are still being looked in to. From what I've gathered reading this thread (and I may be wrong) it looks like the only people...

Transport for Wales - Trainee Train Drivers

You'd be fine applying with TfW then. It basically means if you failed an application with TfW for Crewe four months ago and then positions were advertised with TfW for Shrewsbury you wouldn't be able to apply for Shrewsbury.

Transport for Wales - Trainee Train Drivers

No, last update was from 14 August with the usual "Please bear with us, we're working through each application..." automated email. That`s pretty interesting/impressive chmt. So just to clarify you submitted the online questionaire about a month ago and already gone through to the assessment...

MMI question: 'A time you've worked alone/performed a role similar to that of a train driver'

Just wanted to get some opinions on the above questions that pop up in the MMI, ultimately I believe they're both asking the same thing/looking for the same kind of answer. In regards to the working alone aspect though I've never really been in a role where I am literally on my own for extended...

OPC making errors when conducting Assessments! Be Careful

I'm in a similar boat however I've always been under the impression that I'd retake the entire MMI portion and not the question I failed to answer adequately. In regards to the phrasing of the emergency question I think mine *may* have said taken control of emergency/pressurised situation (my...

what sort of length of time before chasing up feedback from opc.

I can't see why you'd need to wait 4 - 6 weeks to request feedback. I've been in a similar boat to yourself and contacted the OPC approx. two weeks after getting the rejection email (and I only waited this long because I thought I needed to request it via the TOC and thus waited for them to get...

    Grand Central trainee driver vacancies

Nothing yet, at least in my emails. They said to expect an update within 2 to 4 weeks so I'm not expecting to hear anything for another two weeks.

    ATW Trainee Train Driver

IIRC I believe the interviewers said you can expect to hear back mid-week. I've been keeping an eye on my emails as well today but not expecting anything, it's going to be tomorrow when the sweaty palms kick in!

    ATW Trainee Train Driver

I wasn't expecting anything for today, I figure any news will be coming tomorrow. :)

    ATW Trainee Train Driver

I gave mine in at the start of the interview.

    ATW Trainee Train Driver

Thanks! I didn't ask as just assumed it will be a normal interview just with a lot more of the usual questions you'd get in interviews (which was the impression I got from the initial phone interview email invite). It was just a quick call to advise I'm through and to confirm the preferred date.

    ATW Trainee Train Driver

Just a phone call. No email and I've just this second checked my application on the careers site which is still just showing as 'Submitted'

    ATW Trainee Train Driver

Keep your phones handy all as TfW are phoning people to let them know they've passed to the next stage (for Crewe depot at least). Despite my phone interview only lasting 12 minutes (was sure I failed!) I'm through to next stage. Good luck all!
