Cheers mate, that would make sense. I saw them briefly before and the labelling would suggest that, thanks!

HST drivers - what are these?

Hi guys, Couple of technical questions about the HST control desk (mainly ‘what does that do?’ type questions!) Referring to the picture, there are a set of buttons under the speedo in the middle, a blue, white and red set of buttons. A couple are covered by a safety cover, what are these...

T Key sockets on Class 166

Hi guys, Small technical question - I’ve noticed that on the 166s (and I believe the 387s) there is a small socket for a T key next to the exhaust stack on the outside between the carriages. What is this used for? Many thanks in advance!

    ‘RHM’ meaning

Hi all, Quite a quick question - I saw a 166 stopped at Weston. Just underneath the driver’s windscreen there is a yellow triangle with ‘RHM’ written on it. I tried to look at other posts but nothing explains what it means. What does RHM stand for/mean please? Thank you! :)

    GWR Customer Host assessment day?!

Hi Luke! Good stuff and well done for getting past the paper sift! That’s arguably the hardest part for many. I am a customer host, and like you mine was in a hotel as well. That’s because they’re easier venues to work with when dealing with large groups of people new to the railway. You’re...

What to ask a train driver to learn about their job?

Good stuff, there’s already a bit of life experience you can draw on there. The other replies answer your question far better than I can, the points that are particularly useful are seeing a diagram, to make sure the hours would fit into your lifestyle, and definitely just getting a visit to the...
