Virgintrains.co.uk website (in the post - InterCity West Coast franchise era)

I guess it just proves how good they are at branding. Something the rest of the industry could sorely do with looking at. The public (the majority) love Virgin, no other end of franchise have I seen the public getting teary eyed about.

    Arriva New Logo

Should we read anything in to the fact it no longer contains A DB Company on the logo?

Are paper timetable booklets pointless these days?

If you put the cost to the customer they are only likely to use it if they need it. If you provide it for free they'll take a loaf even if they don't. Thousands of little paper booklets that get thrown away every x months is probably not good for the environment. I agree, if people want to...

    Passenger vs Customer

They have to have a 'buffer' at the beginning of a message I believe to ensure people don't miss important information, I believe there's some optimum amount of time. Isn't it to also differentiate between safety announcements which a customer will most likely ignore? Sent from my LG-H815...

What happened to Sheffield City Airport?

Not sure about city airport but Robin Hood airport is still going as far as I know?

Pictures are up on BBC news and looks like one has gone in to the back of another with some force.

    Very delayed TfL payment

There is no time limit, though for card payments they usually don't go over 180 days but has happened for longer periods before.

    XC Voyagers 'Arriva/DB" paint job?

Maybe they're moving towards phasing out arriva name and getting the public used to seeing the DB logo is first step. Sent from my GT-I9505G using Tapatalk

Mobile phone reception on the tube

Hell I've had a nat express coach journey of over two hours with one woman harking on for the whole journey. And people did say something but got a mouthful of abuse. Sadly people believe it's their God given right. The tube is lovely in this respect. No silly ringtones or text noises and no...

    Double Deck Buses

When I used to live in Liverpool I felt safer on a single deck, especially in the evenings whereas a double deck would sometimes just have a top deck full of smoke and general rowdiness. Sent from my GT-I9505G using Tapatalk

    'Eco buses'

This is also common in cars where a good ford eco engine of say 1.1l is equivalent to a 1.6 of old. My new 1.5 diesel feels a lot punchier than old 2l diesels I've driven. Sent from my GT-I9505G using Tapatalk

Re-Boarding An Empty Train And The Possible Consequences

I once fell asleep on a midland mainline 170 that terminated at Notts. Woke up about a mile from the station a little alarmed to be going away from Nottingham. Walked up to drivers cab and knocked on door. Driver was a little shocked to say the least. Little talk on the radio and the guy took...

    Smoking Train Driver

So if we're saying that drivers are allowed to smoke in their workplace because it's a stressful job and not having a fag might lead to them being too anxious to drive properly (!) we therefore also must then allow those that need a fag after a stressful day in the office one in the toilet of a...

    Voyager Computer Problems

I would imagine a large amount of the gadgetry that the computer runs is not seen by the passenger. I also imagine a lot of it is safety related and let's be honest trains are a lot safer now a days. Sent from my GT-I9505G
