Have you experienced a delay or cancellation due to animals on the line recently?

Quite recently trains between Patterton and Neilston were cancelled due to a swan on the line. Scotrail even tweeted to clarify the reason the trains were not allowed to progress due to it being a swan. Another time, January 2020 I believe there was a cow on the line near Busby, which the...

    Class 314 Withdrawals

Having travelled from Neilston for many years and regularly watched the driver move ends I’m almost certain that they always walked along the track, some would just walk down and up between the inner 2 cabs whilst others would walk end to end.

    Class 314 Withdrawals

I’m must echo that sentiment, I’ve travelled on these trains since they took over from the 303’s on the Neilston line and they have served my little village well. They’ve handled the Snow, Wind and Rain with ease (I recall walking to The Station to get on a 314 during the “Beast from the East”)...

    Class 314 Withdrawals

209 on its own this morning for the 7.55 from Neilston to Glasgow, that’s not going to be popular considering the 7.41 (usually a 318/320 pair) was cancelled. I’m intrigued to see how they cover these diagrams come Monday the 16th

    Class 314 Withdrawals

202 and 205 made up the 17.18 to Neilston, a repeat of the units used on the 7.55 Neilston to Glasgow central this morning. Up until recently they seemed to mix one Carmine with one Saltire so a nice all Carmine surprise while it lasts.

    High and low level stations

Neilston High & Low is another one. The Low level being on the Glasgow to Kilmarnock line, completely separate from the High level one situated in the village. They were roughly 1 mile apart and the High one is the remaining station for the village. (Though now it’s just called Neilston)

    Class 314 Withdrawals

380s have been operating on the Neilston line on Sunday for at least the last two weekends. Yet to see them on a weekday, still a mix of 314s for the majority of the time though the withdrawals have meant a lot of services usually run by 6 car 314s are now 3.
