Wellington in Shropshire was renamed Wellington Telford West for a short time in the 1980's. Once Telford Central opened in May 1986 it was renamed back to Wellington.

It was obvious that combining New St to Euston with New St to Liverpool was never going to work. The obsession with not having services start & terminate at New St has led to absolute carnage.

I travelled from Snow Hill to Stourbridge tonight. Surprise surprise no ticket check......again. Folks know they can get away without paying so they do it all the time.

I would say that this applies to most LM routes. They just don't seem bothered about protecting revenue.

The reason the 50's were built was due to major problems with the Class 47 Sulzer power unit. These problems forced BR to move away from Sulzer powered loco's and the Class 47 power units were permanently de-rated to 2,580hp. Therefore it can be argued that if the 47's had been up to scratch...

Mark, have you any idea regarding the date of the last Lindsey to Westerleigh tanks? I've got a video of the northbound empties at Barnt Green on Feb 26th so it looks as if this was one of the final runs. I didn't realise it was finishing.
