As previously mentioned, the SPS railtour fleet have retention toilets (non-vacuum) funded by NR.
Additional work is ongoing to overhaul the chassis and crash pillars together with CDL figment, but to date there are not enough coaches overhauled to make up a rake...

I guess the obvious question is what profile the TFW 230s have, and are they seeing a similar wear pattern on standard track?
Is anyone aware if these are also P8 or another profile?
It was Network Rail who mandated CET for all stock, and thus they paid for fitment to all the heritage stock.
The ORR mandated CDL (see many, many threads) but as they are not the owner/operator of the tracks, they are not liable for the costs.

Logically as soon as you extend a service that operates in the core outwith the area then any delays it picks up en route back to London cause many issues to the already tight headways.

I really can't see WCRC walking away from the huge cash cow that is the Jacobite, and the costs of fitting CDL to the stock used would be returned quite quickly. However if Mr Smith decides it's not worthwhile I'm sure another operator with deep pockets would jump in there....
