Wheelchair passenger not allowed to board

To be honest, I was completely 100% behind him at first, for about two days, based on the media reports up here in Manchester. Then more and more facts emerged which shed a very different light on the matter, and at that point I changed my mind to the view that I have held ever since, which is...

Wheelchair passenger not allowed to board

NO WAY!! Are you being serious? I find this part very hard to believe. Professional companies and organisations just do not operate that way.

Applying for a position at a train firm (failed previous alcohol test)

Not to mention that failing to disclose it , could theoretically result in prosecution if you successfully applied and took another post and it later came out. Not worth the risk of deception. From what I've been hearing, more and more companies are taking legal action over deceptions these...

idiots on the line (photters and filmers)

Completely agree - kids need to be educated to keep off the railway and to only use authorised crossing points safely and responsibly.

idiots on the line (photters and filmers)

Oh, well, that's about five minutes of my life I'll never get back. Have to agree with Jimmyowl, tresspassing on the railway is illegal. There's no grey area and no ambiguity. If you are there without proper lawful authorisation then it's trespassing. As to the photo in question. There is a...

Wheelchair passenger not allowed to board

I'd forgotten that you did mention that earlier, and I am glad to hear it and hope that in time he'll be able to put all this firmly behind and concentrate on enjoying his chosen profession (and yes, I'm assuming he enjoys based on the fact that all guards / conductors I've met and chatted to...

Wheelchair passenger not allowed to board

Yep, my mistake. Not being familiar with DS, I just noted it had changed to Closed. To be honest I just can't see anyone getting a satisfactory conclusion at the end of it all. Maybe it would be better to just let the whole die a death and descend back into obscurity, I really don't know...

Wheelchair passenger not allowed to board

It appears at this time that the DS thread has been closed by the DS mods at 21:58. Show's over folks, please move along. Nothing to see here folks, please keep moving.

Oh my passengers, how I have missed you

Cust: Hello, I've lost touch with someone who was pretty old, and I'm not sure whether they're still alive or not. Would cemetery records be any help? Me: Well, certainly, if they appear in the cemetery records then they're definitely dead. or Cust: I've been watching that Who Do You...

Wheelchair passenger not allowed to board

Spot on Mr. Greenback. That is exactly the opinion of a lot of the people I work with, many of whom are disabled people who are actively working with organisations and local authorities to improve access and provision of facilities and services for all people with disabilites.

Wheelchair passenger not allowed to board

I disagree, Mr. Greenback. Your post makes far more sense than Tonyaryan's postings. :D

Wheelchair passenger not allowed to board

In my experience, I generally find that if something seems fishy, then it usually turns out to be fishy. Something about this whole 'meeting with Northern Rail' statement just doesn't seem to ring true to me in all honesty. In fact something seems amiss to me, on several levels, about this...

    School course work help please

There's an interesting topic. What does constitute a social networking site, as opposed to a forum? Is there a difference? I've never really thought about that one before, but could be interesting to find out what people think.

Wheelchair passenger not allowed to board

Is this what you were looking for Jon? FWIW, when I read it, I interpreted it to mean that NR will not be making any statements on the matter. Why they'd leave it for the complainant to make such a statement on thier behalf is beyond me. As for him being asked by NR about the guard not being...

    Rail journey GPS log

Cheers for that - I've ordered one off ebay (used) but there's no cable supplied with it. Got the software (£6 ish for ezTour) and manuals via the Holux website, but only just thought about the cable! d'oh! :D
