    Rail strikes discussion

People are against them as it directly effects them. Take the Arriva bus strikes in Yorkshire going on. 2 week now of no buses. Most people area against them because its effecting them. While annoying, drivers need a payrise otherwise services will only get worse as they cannot attract new...

    Rail strikes discussion

Are the timetables recently announced during the strike days and either side of it actually deliverable? I assume so as the train companies will have taken all this into consideration, but there still seems to be a hell of alot of trains running. LNER for example are running hourly services from...

RMT announce strike dates across range of TOCs and Network Rail

Doesnt really play into the Governments narrative of wanting people back in the office by indirectly claiming they're lazy when WFH. No trains, or threats of strikes every few weeks wont encourage people to come back into the office

RMT announce strike dates across range of TOCs and Network Rail

Is the tube and the new Elizabeth line effected by the National Rail strike action on the 23rd and 25th? Or dont National Rail run that network

RMT announce strike dates across range of TOCs and Network Rail

Depends where you go. I travel to Heathrow from Yorkshire a fair bit, i arent getting a bus that takes 4.5hrs if i can help it. Same if im going to America for example, your only option is a plane so not matter how much they mess you about, you have to pay for them

RMT announce strike dates across range of TOCs and Network Rail

They have passengers over a barrel. People need to use the trains to get to work/holidays. Just like planes. If they mess you about you cant boycott them, you still pay to use the service as thats the only way to travel

RMT announce strike dates across range of TOCs and Network Rail

I travel to London from Yorkshire on the 24th so wont technically be effected (although my Heathrow Express train will be the following day). What are the chances the 24th days travel will be severely effected, with trains being out of position due to not running the previous day

    Grand Central reservation policy

So i have a West Yorkshire M card that covers me on Grand Central trains within the area. I need to catch their train tomorrow from Kirkgate to Brighouse, however you need a reservation to travel for social distancing reasons. LNER allow reservations for pass holders free of charge. Seems Grand...

When will Castleford - Wakefield - Huddersfield services be fully restored?

Before covid this service was a direct hourly service. During the lockdown understandably the service was reduced. However since things began opening up again, virtually all lines have returned to some sort of normal service, however this route hasnt. There are i believe 2-3 direct trains a day...

No services in West Yorkshire next week on some lines?

Thanks everyone. Seems all the apps have updated now with the timetables

No services in West Yorkshire next week on some lines?

They replied on DM, they said timetables are done weekly at the moment so isnt live. Which is fine. Just odd how the following week is on there

No services in West Yorkshire next week on some lines?

No havent. Although it seems to be TPE trains aswell that arent on the timetable

No services in West Yorkshire next week on some lines?

I commute to Halifax from Leeds daily for work. Checking the timetables for next week and its saying none are running at all for the whole week. I believe bank holiday there are works on the line so thats fine, but what about the rest of the week? Even during COVID they have been running every...

Halifax station - platform is too short announcement

I regularly travel from Leeds - Halifax that goes via Bradford. They always tend to be the new Northern trains and always 3 carriages max. As we approach Halifax station the automated announcement always says something along the lines of "please be aware the platform is too short at Halifax to...

    Delay repay with M Card

The bus takes 1 hour 10 mins (train takes 30), but only run every 30 mins, so if the train is cancelled i can be waiting up to 30 mins for the bus. Ive never purchased the additional ticket to cover me through Leeds - as like i say i refuse when its Northern forcing me to go that route. However...

    Delay repay with M Card

My MCard is also zone 2-5 so doesnt cover Leeds. Thats fine as i dont travel to Leeds enough to warrant the extra cost. However when a direct train from Huddersfield to Wakefield is cancelled, i have to either wait for the next hourly service, get a bus that takes forever or hop on a train home...
