Can you buy a 16-25 railcard at a station and use it the same day?!

Thanks so much guys, this forum is awesome. Last question: can I get a 16-18 non-resident (Shenfield) Oyster photocard in a similar fashion or do I have to go through the long process of applying online and everything?

Can you buy a 16-25 railcard at a station and use it the same day?!

Okay thanks very much, I'll bring my passport. But you're sure I can just walk in, buy it and then use it straight away? Do I just hand it to them whilst buying my ticket by the way?

Can you buy a 16-25 railcard at a station and use it the same day?!

Ah cool cool, thanks very much. Can you do this with a 16-18 Oyster non-resident photocard or do you have to apply and wait for 3 weeks? I'll bring my mum with me to make sure everything goes smoothly but what can I use as proof of age? I have a BITE card but would I need my passport or anything?

Can you buy a 16-25 railcard at a station and use it the same day?!

Hey there, this is a follow-up to my thread to http://www.railforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=33781. I've ordered a 16-18 non-resident Oyster photocard and it's currently being processed, but I still need to get a 16-25 railcard. I'm wondering if I could go tomorrow, get a passport-style...

[16-18] Shenfield to Chafford Hundred! Help please!

Thanks very much for the informative response! The cheaper and slower way does sound good but it's a bit impractical; I'm meant to be meeting a few people at Romford so would prefer getting a train to Romford, bus to Lakeside and then repeat that process on the way back. I checked out...

[16-18] Shenfield to Chafford Hundred! Help please!

Right thanks. I'm not so bothered about paying 60p/day for the Romford > Chafford Hundred bus but are you 100% that it's only 60p? Oh, and ****. I just realised all of these need to be return too.

[16-18] Shenfield to Chafford Hundred! Help please!

Thanks man, can you confirm that the 16+ Oyster Photocard will get me a free bus from Romford > Chafford Hundred? --- old post above --- --- new post below --- So since I live in Shenfield, I have to pay 60p for a bus journey from Romford to Chafford Hundred? Thanks for all the prompt...

[16-18] Shenfield to Chafford Hundred! Help please!

Erm, probably 3 or 4 times during the week and then either 0 or 1 on the weekend (depending on how expensive it is - am I right in thinking it's more expensive at the weekend?). I'd be going there around 10:00 or 11:00 in the morning and coming back around 4:00 or 5:00 in the afternoon. Thanks...

[16-18] Shenfield to Chafford Hundred! Help please!

Nah you've been a great help! And yeah my bad, I'll be travelling both on weekdays and weekends, but if it's much cheaper on weekdays I'll just travel then. And in terms of time, I'd be going at like 10:30-11:00 in the morning and then coming back around 4:00-5:30. Thanks in advance!

[16-18] Shenfield to Chafford Hundred! Help please!

Yeah I've gotcha, but I was planning on going there quite often (don't ask!), like 4 times a week, so I'm trying to keep the costs down. I'm willing to pay that much but any cheaper alternatives would be appreciated! I'll check out about the buses, thanks for your input. Does anybody else...

[16-18] Shenfield to Chafford Hundred! Help please!

Right thanks, but damn that's still quite expensive. Is it true that I can get a free bus from Romford to Chafford Hundred? If so, would it be cheaper to get a train from Shenfield to Romford and then get a bus to Chafford Hundred? Thanks for the prompt reply, Conzy.

[16-18] Shenfield to Chafford Hundred! Help please!

Hey there. As you probably know, it's coming up to the summer holidays! I'm going to be travelling to Lakeside a lot (near the Chafford Hundred station) and am looking for the cheapest way for me to get there. I'm 16-years-old and currently reside in Shenfield, near Brentwood. The people that...
