TFW / TIL response to my appeal is to double the unpaid fare payment

The Penalty Fare would have been cheaper for the OP - Ive still not seen an implementation date on the PF scheme for the South Wales Metro however TfW are scheduled to install 45 new TVM's in the Metro area and 75 on the rest of the network this year so it wont be too far away.

Chiltern refusing to pay delay compensation for both tickets on split ticket journey UPDATE:resolved

Were veering off thread title now but short of every train being Booked Train only, paid online by card with name and address of the customer and refunds done automatically back to the card you have to design a system that's also not open to fraud and whatever you come up with its going to have...

Chiltern refusing to pay delay compensation for both tickets on split ticket journey UPDATE:resolved

Ive claimed Delay Repay myself in the past and never had a problem doing so.These occasions have been of significant delay once over 2 hours. It would never cross my mind to claim compensation because i was 20 minutes late in the evening with the service still struggling to recover after a...

Chiltern refusing to pay delay compensation for both tickets on split ticket journey UPDATE:resolved

Personally if i need to be somewhere at a certain time and its that important I'm there i.e catching a flight, job interview etc then I will always make arrangements whereby an hours delay will have no adverse effect. If the trains 16 minutes late i'm not looking for compensation - it just...

Chiltern refusing to pay delay compensation for both tickets on split ticket journey UPDATE:resolved

ForTheLoveOf has played the system and got the outcome he was looking for however this has absolutely no relevance to 99.9% of people. No precedent / legal ruling about has been set about delay repay. Any cost benefit analysis of this will show the time spent versus the financial outcome to be...

    TFW Business zone ticket

Yes but I'm aware of certain other non TfW TOC specific products we can't sell. It might have been an explanation.

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

Just looked up the commitment again on TfW's website. It's a pan franchise commitment. Under 11's will be free, 16 to 18's half price and under 16's free off peak if accompanied by fare paying adult. The latter bit about fare paying adult I can't remember seeing before so could well be an...

    TFW Business zone ticket

We can sell it ( being a TFW station agent). It's on our anywhere to anywhere screen in STAR and on Journey Planner. Wonder if people saying there having trouble are not going to TFW outlets?

Are ticket barriers at one station an effective deterrent against fare evasion?

From what's been said up thread its people trying to avoid the ticket buying facilities and barriers at Barrow that has seen people using Roose increase recently. Coming back to the thread title it may not be a unique situation but unlike many other educational flows I know of the movement is...

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

Then its not pan franchise if Borders are excluded which is not how the commitment has read in everything seen so far. With the bus passes we have to issue them special nil cost to them tickets so as to count how many are using the scheme.

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

The reduced fares for under 18's has been trailed as a pan franchise thing not just for the Metro- we need a lot more detail on how this is going to work TfW share routes with other TOC's into Manchester and Birmingham. It could be a recipe for chaos if not handled right as the other TOC's do...

    ATW/Keolis Amey Wales stock shortages

I think there still trying to keep wraps on it as its not a done deal yet. However given public utterances from TfW and a rather obvious answer given other variables/timescales what the solution was likely to be its not been too hard to guess!

What happened in the West Midlands 16/01?

Fatality plus one serious injured at Adderley Park involving TFW service at lunchtime. All lines blocked NewSt to BHI.

Are ticket barriers at one station an effective deterrent against fare evasion?

It's worth making the point for those not familiar that these are overwhelmingly going to be children of parents who have opted to send their kids to Ulvaston for a "better education" than what they pericieve can be obtained in Barrow. These are not people off a council estate on low wages that...

Are ticket barriers at one station an effective deterrent against fare evasion?

The Ulverston example discussed here as opposed to say the Cambrian Coast School trains is an example of children going to a secondary school outside of their catchment area. The Local Authority has no obligation to provide school transport in these circumstances, whereas on the Cambrian Coast...
