Temporary transfer of Turbostars from Chiltern to West Midlands Trains

I would expect the DfT to say no, i mean Chiltern are not really using the 68's & Mk3's at the moment and unless the traffic bounces back to pre-pandemic levels they can make do with the 165/168's... Nice chunk of cash to save by ditching the Mk3's and handing the 68's back, not to mention track...

Do other countries have better/worse apps than National Rail Enquiries App?

The Czech Railway app is good if you are in that part of the world, shows all the stops, current location, formation etc. Can also buy tickets. https://www.cd.cz/en/typy-jizdenek/jak-koupit-jizdenku/-28095/

Southeastern revenue staff making an appearance

They did a sting at Charlton last year, train pulls in, announcement that a full ticket check will be done, cue most of the train getting off and then caught on the platform by an army of Grippers. Train closed doors and headed off with no ticket check done onboard. Very clever I thought.

    Economics of Riverbus services

Depends how you pay, they offer discounts for contactless & oyster but its £8.70 for a Central & East purchased at the ticket machines or £6.50 if you use oyster or contactless which will get you all the way to Westminster (or Millbank if you change). If you commute you can get a season ticket...
