    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

Perhaps it's time for Trent to swallow their pride and buy some second hand buses, or, heaven forbid, some double deckers.

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

When did fault free running become a legal requirement? Was there a time when the railway put things into service and hoped for the best?

    East Anglia planned pylons

Not many people would want pylons appearing near to where they live. However, there's a need to see the bigger picture. Any new transmission route adds to the resilience of the grid as a whole, as it's not just about moving electricity from A to B. Given the choice between more pylons and more...

Does anyone have any interior footage of the three fully refurbished 1972Mk1 stock cars on the Northern Line?

72 stock low density? It has the same interior that the 67 stock had on the Victoria Line and nothing about that line is low density.

Does anyone have any interior footage of the three fully refurbished 1972Mk1 stock cars on the Northern Line?

I think one of John Glover's books contains a picture of the Northern Line interior. Even more interesting would be to see the guard's panel setup on these. Did they keep the same panels they had before refurbishment?

    Hulley's of Baslow

"Hoping to run" is probably more accurate, given recent trends.

What happened to the Hazel Grove to Blackpool North service?

This change has once again left Hazel Grove with very few electric trains.

    Hulley's of Baslow

The bus stop timetables should be generic or local authority branded and list every bus that calls at that stop regardless of operator. Derbyshire has got a lot worse for this. It's a shame as they used to be one of the best for up to date and clear timetable information.

    Hulley's of Baslow

Agreed. The Leyland Lynx was the mainstay of their fleet for many years.

Disastrous afternoon on the Airedale line this afternoon - 09 August

A few services seem to have been cancelled "due to a problem with the brakes".

What is it like to drive the class 158?

Interesting that policy states which notches to use. You'd think they'd trust the judgement and skill of their drivers to use the notches they see fit!

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

    I see. So when they're on a 507/508 they are a guard and when they're on a 777 they're a train manager?

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

When did Merseyrail guards become "Train Managers"?

Are there any male automated announcements on trains?

The Piccadilly Line 1973 stock had a male announcer when it was first refurbished. It only triggered when the driver entered one of the codes, so it wasn't heard very often.

Marsh Barton Railway Station Exeter - Construction

It probably would have added on another £5 million to the final bill.

    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

The lack of an evening service between Bakewell and Buxton has been a glaring omission for years. If the railway had remained, there would, no doubt, be a regular service throughout the evening. I'm surprised the BSIP funding hasn't addressed this.

Did they do the original timings test run for the Breezer at 3am with a prevailing wind?
