Hi train buddies! Is there anywhere on the internet that has a current list of all units (by set number) in operation across the UK?

There was extensive coverage of this in modern railways this month. VivaRail provided a rather eloquant response to some of those questioning the removal of the current stock to be replaced with the D-units.

Any tips on where best to buy the latest Baker? I can only see the 2013 version online.

Trains at Purley are in chaos. BTP advising people of delays of many hours! Just as he said that a train showed up, but the situation is not looking good!

I think the second problem is that it is also quicker. My wife flew to Glasgow from Gatwick last summer, it took 20 minutes to get to the airport (by train I must add) and then after check in the flight was just over an hour. Personally, I would much rather go by train (not a great flyer) but...

Is the PPM well used? BTW.........I thought the LM units were Southern for split second! Similar colour scheme.

Well I mainly travel on the Southern ones, two a day! I did 455 846 yesterday, the last Southern operated one. Should clear all the Southern ones hopefully! :)

Well I have now recorded three units! :) Are all the 455/8's operated by Southern? Personally I think it is a good commuter train, plenty of seats but also a lot of free space for standing. Out of interest, does anyone know of a train spotter who actually never liked travelling on a train...

Yes, I have been on the odd 455. They are uncomfortable, you end up playing knock knee with the person sat opposite!
