Rail industry preparing for national strikes

This forum is insane at times, someone breaks the law often repeatedly they are given all the help in the world on the disputes page. Law abiding railway workers just wanting a pay rise in line with inflation are treated like criminals.

Rail industry preparing for national strikes

I wouldn't want to see anyone sacked, instead of that how about retraining her as a signaller put her in a signalbox - force a roster change on her, get her up 7 mornings in a row (including Sat/Sun) for less money than she earned on her previous roster let her have a day off then give her 7...

They most certainly will not for a dog

    EMR still useless

Where was the gig? Rock City must be a decent 15 minute walk to the train station plus by the time it takes to get out I’d say a 23:30 train is almost perfect for your needs.

    LNER seat reservation

It’s actually a very user friendly website. Book the seats you do want and the site itself will remind you that you have a reservation on that service already and ask you if you want to cancel the original booking.

Lumo - new Open Access operator on the East Coast Main Line

Are we 100% sure this is a real company and not just a website task from The Apprentice?

Daughter issued with penalty fare by SouthEastern

It’s just £20 mate, not worth the time effort or stress. Pay it lesson learnt. You say your daughter has autism them presumably she is entitled to benefits? If she isn’t receiving them maybe that’s the battle you should be fighting not this one. Start a go fund me and I’ll happily give you a fiver.

    A career as a signaller

Don’t take this as gospel by any means but round my way trainee signallers go back at the end of AB course to do the TCB week on the basis that they have it under their belts if the decide to move on, and if they don’t do it then they would have to do the whole course again.

That rule didn’t apply to our recent recruits, one of whom lives 3 and 1/2 hours away from the location.

    RMT to fight the cuts

You might not think you deserve a pay rise, but I think we do. I forgot to mention the none annual bonus and the looming threat of redundancy. But fair enough Super Nova let's tug our forelocks and be grateful we have a job.

    RMT to fight the cuts

I wish I wasn’t classed as a key worker, maybe then I could have sat on my arse for 14 months getting 80% of my wages. Then I’d probably think it would be slightly off to be rewarded for my ‘effort’

    RMT to fight the cuts

For the unsociable hours worked I am paid fairly, I wouldn’t say badly and I wouldn’t say well

    RMT to fight the cuts

Where is the money coming from to support the people that have been on furlough for the past year?

    RMT to fight the cuts

After working every day through the pandemic, after being lauded by management for being key workers, sacrificing weekends, giving up annual leave to cover shifts, working unsociable hours having to accept new rosters that are awful and leave you worse off each month. I’m sorry...but F this we...
