Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

I don't think Sunak is hugely popular but they really tanked in the polls during the Liz Truss "era" and haven't recovered from that. So in a way the party leader from now to the election isn't a critical factor.

    Can Revenue override a Guard

I had the same situation on Southeastern and the guard said no which is entirely their call. Went for a pint instead :)

Speeding up slow journeys between London boroughs

It's a carrot and stick thing too relative to driving. If you drive from Carshalton to Zone 1 it's going to be slow and parking will be expensive, so the train wins for most people. Carshalton to Wandsworth is an easier drive and parking will be cheaper or free.

    Gravesend Tilbury Ferry

I've used it a few times with my bike. My impression is while it serves a few different niche markets well, they're all quite price sensitive so if the fare was say £10 it would price most users off. It has two crew members and runs roughly half hourly. There was previously talk of Thames...

    Freiburg v Cambridge

How long does that congestion last for - half an hour each time there's an event?

Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

An interesting point from a comment on Conservative Home - have the Tories largely given up on business and enterprise?

Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

I think they would win if they introduced that. Not saying it's a good idea!

Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

Yeah that's what got me thinking. Are they going to scrap Income Tax and call the election the week after?

When will the next election be?

Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

Interestingly if you run those numbers in EC but with Reform on 2% (which was the Brexit Party share in 2019) they still get battered - so the main factor is the size of the gap between Labour and Conservatives.

    The 2024 London Mayoral Election

Although if you look at Electoral Calculus this forecasts the Tories to lose outer London constituencies including Uxbridge, Bromley, Croydon South, Chingford, Chipping Barnet and others to Labour.

    The 2024 London Mayoral Election

All three Mayors so far already had a certain amount of profile (Khan maybe less but he was in the shadow cabinet) - I doubt that most Londoners have heard of Hall before. Also the current Tory membership have moved a long way culturally from rich, internationalist, socially liberal Londoners...

Rerouting all Southeastern Mainline services into Victoria (and via Crystal Palace?) or Waterloo - could it work?

Even though it's not in the City you can also access loads of jobs by walking out of Charing Cross - Whitehall for the civil service, embassies around St James, the West End for entertainment, Covent Garden ditto, LSE, King's College London, lots of offices above the shops, hospitality...

Keir Starmer and the Labour Party

To be fair I couldn't tell you a single Lib Dem policy in the post-Stop Brexit era.
