Edinburgh & The Lothians Council Tender Services

The fact the route is split is a bit crazy in my opinion. Considering the 26 from Clermiston all the way to Prestonpans. However Queensferry to terminate at the Gyle is rather short sighted. Sure not every bus should go to Princess Street, but at least have it going further into Edinburgh.

Certainly an interesting one and it could work for sure. Not that I know of many terminuses but are there any other ones that work in a similar way?

Good point, as far Newbridge goes it is the only thing that would make sense to me. Although I do wonder how it will turn around to head back through Newbridge into Ratho, unless it goes along to Newbridge roundabout and swing around to use Clifton Road to get back? Although it does seem a big...

If I were to take a guess it could be the stop next to Parkside just off Old Liston Road?

It’s a good point, as the route doesn’t need to go along Corstophine or even Calder Road. In my opinion it could be worthwhile having it along Broomhouse and Saughton. That way it‘s a service that might give others on those areas another option outside of the tram to get to the Gyle and beyond...

So they still have no idea what to do with the 63 and 20? Surely if they are thinking of a Ratho to City via the A71, then they could merge both 20 and 63? As a new Ratho service via A71 could take away the need for the 20 part of the service from Ratho.

To ask a daft question, how would they fare if they still got the same number of drivers for the two routes but still merged for a combined 63/20 service? Sorry if I have worded that badly and hopefully you get what I am trying to ask haha

Some of the changes make sense, however I feel that some of them could merge to be a longer route. As a few seem just too short, especially compared to most other routes. Queensferry - Gyle could be extended to say Chesser which could cover more shops and also the O2 academy. Gyle -...

Speaking of the 20 and 63. This seems awfully likely that they want it off McGills? But also a direct from Ratho to the city. Evening News Ratho busses

That’s just it, if the other routes weren’t doing the job so to speak, I highly doubt the 20 and 63 nevermind the 68 will last much longer. For selfishness and preference over Lothian I hope the 63 goes over to Lothian Country at some point. Working out at Newbridge and being lucky to have use...

Edinburgh & the Lothians bus network speculations & ideas

Ideally this is how the 400 should run and not divert into Wester Hailes itself

Out of curiosity what were the other rumours you heard?

Edinburgh & the Lothians bus network speculations & ideas

Does anyone know if McGills are not renewing the contract for the 20 and 63? If not when will they be up for tender? Does anyone think that Lothian will pick them up and bunch it in the Lothian Country bracket? As it would make sense considering the routes.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Just wondering, does anyone know how the 20 and 63 in particular are performing for McGill? Are they still at a reduced timetable of once an hour? Even though the routes for these buses haven't changed. What are the chances of Lothian picking them up but perhaps making changes to the route to...

I for one will be getting the N400 for the first time a week on Friday for our flight to Malaga. Really grateful for the early service, however I am a bit surprised there are no other buses even leaving from the airport around midnight onward. Unless the plan is to expand on the service now it's...

No doubt this would be the quickest way to Wester Hailes? However probably more expensive when compared to the bus?

Also the same day ticket on the M-Ticket app, if you want to help save some paper ;)

    Edinburgh Tram developments

There was installation of new "contactless" scanning machines at tram stops last year, just now for the ridacards. However I wouldn't be shocked if this was how the tap tap cap was used for the Trams and probably with a aim of being live for the Newheaven opening.

As I stay at the new builds next to the college on the rare times of me not getting the tram from Bankhead my only preferred option would indeed be the X27/X28 at Sighthill. So I would say I am spoiled for choice of getting into town and also the airport for that matter. Slapping in another...

New edition Jul 2022 of Enhancements Delivery Plan Scotland

Sorry for the naive question. Is that perhaps because most of the network is wired up between Dundee and Glasgow? Not sure how much is wired on that line to be honest.
