Again, yes, I know. What if a ‘trainload of standard class users’ bearing shower tokens piled in? Would that be ok? Is the objection the trainload etc, or the perception that it’s not paid for? How would a trainload purchasing shower tokens help inadequate facilities from being overwhelmed (I...

I’m aware of the nature of the facilities. I travel with CS, have done for years. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think you’ve argued upthread about how well patronised CS are, which means that some who would like a Club room can’t get one because sold out, so it’s not quite so simple as you...

‘Contend with’? ‘Trainload’? ‘Piling in’? Really? o_O Said as someone who has travelled both Club and Classic, depending on availability. I tend to walk, not pile ;). In the past, pre-COVID, I’ve turned back from the lounge car because it’s been too busy. I’d have preferred not to stay in the berth. Possibly I wasn’t the only one. CS repeatedly get criticised for over-promising and under-delivering. Two nights ago I travelled and there was a problem that...

I’ve just tried to replicate it for a few months ahead (2022) and the first dates I hit on were £225 return. I’ve had what you describe happen with other rail tickets when I’ve put the ticket in my basket and something has gone wrong. As if the system thinks the ticket is reserved, I’d suggest...

‘With the present poor standards…’. I’m deliberately drawing those words rather than aiming this at the poster. I use the service, not enough to be a regular but when I choose to travel to the north of Scotland. I’m not international, not wealthy, probably I could be considered a tourist in...

Hi all, new poster. I asked. At the moment there is no confirmed date for the switch to new carriages on the Highlander. You can get a refund on a fixed ticket (at least currently) because I’ve had one for October. It does confirm it somewhere on one of their webpages about the delays.
