https://www.railadvent.co.uk/2020/09/new-madrid-to-london-freight-train-service-begins-thanks-to-tesco.html Is this a genuine new flow, or a bit of a truth twist like the article in post 201? Interestingly at the end it says that permits have been requested to increase the weight of cargo on HS1...

Friday 14th August saw a DRS operated stone train from Barrow to Sellafield, using the JNA wagons which had recently been trialled on the Sizewell line. I don't know if this will be a short term or long term contract?

    West Coast Railways Timber Trains.

Obviously WCR are using the same locomotives for these trains as on their passenger trains, but is special training needed for their drivers to move onto freight? I was thinking about the same concept as when a tractor driver has to take a trailer test even though he can drive a tractor already.

Any idea why WCR has moved into rail freight?!

Huntingdon to Didcot Parkway - Which route should I take?

Hi all, I might be taking a trip to see my relatives in Oxfordshire next week. My route options are: Huntingdon - Peterborough - Birmingham New Street - Oxford - Didcot, or Huntingdon - St. Pancras - tube - Paddington - Didcot. I can't travel by car, so I'm wondering what would be the best rail...

A new flow of paper slurry from Aberdeen to Spalding, where it is transferred to road transport onwards to King's Lynn, has started, operated by Colas. What would be the reason for not taking it all the way to King's Lynn by rail out of interest?

    Great Western Electrification Progress

Do trains switch to diesel for the short section under the bridge? They seem to run on electricity past my sister's house at East Hanney, just down the line. EDIT: By the way, I'm glad this historic piece of railway heritage was saved. The outcome could have been similar to the handsome three...

    Great Western Electrification Progress

On the other hand, there may not be any significant net decrease in road usage. I think people tend to see public transport as a hotbed for picking germs up, especially trains and buses and I wonder if this will scare people into using their cars until the virus is almost non - existent or...

Thanks, I hope to pop to the station and see it later. I see it says 6Z42 now at the top of the RTT page (it was showing 'FRGT' before). If the train is obfuscated, is there a way I can find the real headcode out?
