All the local Scottish stations - Clyde 1, West FM, Northsound, Tay, Moray Fifth all have the same programming apart from breakfast shows which are still local.

    East Kilbride/Barrhead electrification updates

Local Facebook pages are all having a good moan about this. 14 months does seem a bit excessive to replace this bridge. I'd imagine Burnfield Road bridge will be next. Another arch bridge. Hopefully Fenwick Road bridge will be ok as this really would be a traffic nightmare.

Trivia: Retail/food chains that don’t cover the entire UK

Until about 5 years ago there was one in Giffnock (South Glasgow) which is now Lidl. 1674407040 Pretty sure TJ Hughes was in the old C & A store in Trongate. Lewis's store became Debenhams.

Ken Bruce Quits BBC Radio 2

I do think that Radio 2 did need to modernise a bit and Steve Wright going was a good thing but i do like Ken and he kept me company when I was working from home. I will probably still listen for popmaster. Sometimes though things need a refresh. I actually like Scott Mills and the music he is...

    Your experience of Jury Service

Indeed. The whole court process is ridiculously inefficient and must waste huge amounts of public money whilst lining the pockets of defence solicitors.

    Your experience of Jury Service

I've been called up 4 times. Only once got as far as the courtroom then wasn't actually picked. Been sent away twice after being told cases had been postponed and jury not required. Got excused once after my boss wrote a letter to get me out of it due to work commitments. Such an inefficient...

    Renewing driving licenses

Quick and easy at post office. I went on a Saturday morning and had a new licence arrive 3 days later. You can also renew online if you have a valid passport as they use the photo from it. Only reason I didn't was my passport expired last year. Didn't see much point in renewing it yet.

Have you had any recent good or bad experiences of using car breakdown recovery services?

I had to call the RAC a few years ago after having a blowout on the M6 while on the way to Wales for a holiday with 2 young children in the car. Wheel was totally stuck solid to the hub. Prioritised call because of kids and they arrived in about 15 mins which was great as being on the hard...

    Your favourite road trips?

Agreed, anywhere in the North West Highlands is spectacular. Bealach na Bà is amazing on a clear day and the Applecross Inn is worth a visit. I've relatives in Lochcarron as well which is a lovely village. The Lochcarron bistro is very nice! Best time to go is before the midges get bad in the...

    Car mileages

Around 15 years ago I had a hand me down company 2000 W reg 1.8 Honda Accord. It had 70k miles on it when I got it and 3 years later i had put another 110k miles on it. Only ever needed normal service items and was still on original clutch and exhaust. It refused to start only once and was...

Trivia - abandoned railways with intact track

The old royal ordnance factory at Bishopton had miles of narrow gauge lines a lot of which was still in situ until the site redevelopment began around 10 years ago. Also had an intact engine shed. Did quite a bit of work on the site just before the remediation works started. Was a fascinating...

    New national restrictions in Scotland

Well said, couldn't agree more. My 2 aged 9 and 13 are really beginning to struggle with this and desperately need to be in school. My eldest is 13 and has additional support needs so is losing out big time and becoming less motivated every day. I am really starting to get angry about the...

Things you've done that would have been "fun" to explain if you'd been seen

Funnily enough many years ago a friend and I were doing this exact same thing with the same result details taken and questioned by local cops who spotted us.

    Your first car

Passed my test aged 17 (first time) in 1991. First car was a 1983 Vauxhall Nova 1.2L in white/rust with a lovely maroon interior! had Nova SR alloys and steering wheel. Had it for 3 years and sold it to a mate who had it for another couple of years before it finally dissolved. Replaced it with...

    Favourite stations

Aberdour is one of my favourites it's a really nice station with reasonably interesting traffic passing through and the bakers beside it is good too! Other favourites are Glasgow Central, Aviemore and Crainlarich. Largs used to be a really attractive station before it was remodelled by a 318.
