I have just completed my training at Walsall, if you are local you travel each day, no hotel. My group had 8 and only 1 was in a hotel due to the distance.

I had an interview at WMSC earlier in the year and was successful. The interviewers were extremely laid back and made you feel at ease instantly. I am very impressed with all aspects of WMSC so far so good luck with your application!

Could anybody clarify if I am correct in thinking the next pay day is the 24th of this month? I have tried to work it out after searching the forum and working forward every 4 weeks, thanks in advance.

How is the current Coronavirus situation affecting signalling centres? I ask as I have my induction week starting from Monday. I seem to recall on this forum that unless you were on shift or a manger it was pretty much a no to enter? Many thanks

Has anybody else been told that they can not claim mileage expenses for training school? With the courses now being run local I have been told that if the training centre is closer than your base signalling box location you will not be reimbursed?

I notice that there are multiple signaller vacancies at Stoke at the minute. Does anybody have any idea of the future of this box? Grade 7 external opportunity is not to be sniffed at.....

Am I right in believing there is a new max 60 hour working week being introduced? I was wandering if this will affect certain shift rosters especially 8 hour patterns. I have seen some 8 hour patterns with a run of 8 or 9 shifts on the bounce, this obviously being more than the 60 hours?
