Thanks Tomnick, Do you know if there's any agreement to limit the amount of weekend work each month?

EMR - Drivers Virtual Open Day Tickets - for those who want to know how to become a driver!

I assume the difference in Annual Leave entitlement between Nottingham and Derby is for historic reasons, but is there anything in the terms & conditions that balances it out? EMR Nottingham only has 28 days and Sundays are inside, is it just poor terms or has it got something going for it that...

    Avanti and XC Salaries

Thanks Economist. Cal me a cynic, but that does have a slight wiff of flooding the market to drive down wages :frown:. I wonder if Aslef are keeping an eye on it.

    Avanti and XC Salaries

Thanks Economist, that's all very helpful. What do you mean by pressure from the DfT for XC to recruit trainees? There seems to be loads of TOC's all over the country only recruiting trainees at the minute and not advertising for qualified drivers simultaneously, is there some sort of scheme...

    Minimum Service

It's for Qualified Driver vacancies. Here's an example from a job advert: "Existing Drivers may not apply until they have occupied their present post for 18 months following completion of all training, including examination and route learning." When I moved depots we signed different routes...

    Minimum Service

Several Toc's require you to have a minimum length of service in your current post before you can apply. I have had two years of service but split across two different depots within the same TOC. Generally speaking do you think TOC's will accept this as being 2 years service or only accept the...
