Transport for Wales - lowest satisfaction rating

I'm fed up of the lack of capacity in peak hours. Previously lived near Cogan, and now near Ebbw Vale. When two carriages turn up it's depressing! What really grates me is that a single train elsewhere in the UK can be 10/12 carriages. The new stock, electrification, and new signs are nice to...

    Ahhh that's good news!

    Ebbw Vale line improvements

If I'm reading the RTT link for February correctly, thats a big change to times arriving into Cardiff for commuters. Previous Arrivals: 07:34, 08:34, 09:34 New Arrivals: 06:59, 08:02, 09:01 Likewise with new departures from Cardiff being 16:02, 17:02, 18:02 Possibly not great if you work 8-4 or...

Bristol Airport - what a stupid location!

National Express service too, Cardiff, Newport to Bristol Airport every 2 hours-ish.

Severn Tunnel Closure - Have they Worked Out the Best Road Route?

M4 closed again J30 to J28, although between Cardiff and Newport this time, so buses should be fine. Although still 1h45 between Bristol and Newport. I wonder if it'll be even worse tomorrow.

Severn Tunnel Closure - Have they Worked Out the Best Road Route?

Not a good night, M4 closed Eastbound between 24 and 23A due to accident about 5:30pm - Diversion via A48, A466 and M48 and rejoin M4 at J21, plenty of trapped traffic though, but starting to turn people around looking at cams. Expected clear: 21/06/18 07:00 (Don't think that is accurate though).

Minor Incident at Manchester Piccadilly (15/08)

Sure, "aviate, navigate, communicate" but its still important to communicate to passengers afterwards.

Severn Tunnel Closure - Have they Worked Out the Best Road Route?

1h45 on Google Maps, if you go M32-M4 1h15 if you go M5-M48-A4180 (although queuing in Newport itself) I guess they'll probably stick to the M4, although First do operate a service to Newport so maybe they aren't totally naive.

Prosecution: concerned about my career and stance in Brexit. Advice needed!

When they say prosecution, is it a civil or criminal matter?

    Thameslink Services/Timetable from May 20th 2018

Any news on this essential engineering work by Network Rail over the weekend?

    Thameslink Services/Timetable from May 20th 2018

Ouch. Really poor they couldn't make the decision at Stevenage either.

"Timetable's changing. You can't have one."

If they were to stop printed timetables, I'd be interested to see if they continue with online PDFs, or hide everything behind journey planners/ticket systems (so they don't have to pay for a timetable booklet to be designed).

Cable theft? Signal failure between Cardiff and Newport (7/4/18)

Checking NR shows 19:45 Paddington to Swansea is 180 mins late, due in Swansea at 01:43, ouch.

    Manual or Automated Recorded Announcements

Automated for normal operations, manual for anything impacting the service.

    Snow Service Changes 25/02/18 onwards.

I know it isn't ideal, but couldn't they use the rail replacement buses, although that depends if they were even running.

Is It Time To Lock People On Trains?

I agree, there is a big difference between a door being locked or a door being locked but with an emergency release, and I would not like to travel if the former was the case.

Passengers abandon train at Lewisham with 3rd rails still live.

Oh darn it, if only the passengers had stayed aboard for another 5, 15, 45, 90, 180, 300 minutes, next to a station.

Passengers abandon train at Lewisham with 3rd rails still live.

If Southeastern, Network Rail, or BTP couldn't get any resources or a plan together in South London within hours, then fair enough. However no heat, lights, toilet, or communication for three hours, but yards from the station in an urban area, I can't blame the passengers either.

    The UK attitude to firearms

I've shot a few while in Texas, far louder than I expected, especially the AR-15. Haven't seen a gun in the UK (outside of Police), let alone the other options.

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

Perhaps this has caused a loss of confidence in heavy rail solutions, and light rail/tram trains might be an easier sell to improve the services, and make it easier to get new stock in future.
