WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

I'd have thought that would not be allowed - I don't fancy being in a carriage with the only escape exits being a corridor connection at each end.

You know you’re getting older when……

Can't remember what I did to earn that privilege but it made a change from getting detention! Nowadays (is that even a word?) it makes me think they should have put this on the turntable

Should I do my PCV by joining a bus company or paying privately?

Quick question: Are you aged 21+ ? IIRC under 21 you are limited to non long distance work.

Alonso to remain at Aston Martin until the end of 2026. Presumably Sainz will be the next driver in F1 musical chairs to find a seat?

    Dangerous boarding procedures at Euston

I can't see any mention of falling off a platform only a more general reference to a person falling, which I suspect means a fall within their own body height.

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

I watched his appearance on the STV local news at 6pm. No idea if it was the clip used by ITV at lunchtime. When asked about running coaches without central door locking he said "It is safe" and "not necessary or required" and that DfT should allow WCRC to continue operating. As @68000 says he...

No, I don't believe so. Happy to be advised otherwise if that is the case.

Stagecoach East (Bedford, Cambridge, Huntingdon and Peterborough)

It is not that unusual, particularly in a scenario like this, where an operator cuts reduces the service and the local authority tenders for replacements for the withdrawn journeys. Whoever wins the tender operates those journeys leading to two different operators. Hopefully tickets will be...

Thank you - I'm duly enlightened.

Class 701 'Aventra' trains for South Western Railway

This prompts me to ask, though I understand if you feel unable to offer an opinion: Has the department having to authorise the spend had any bearing upon the speed of the 701s full introduction into service?

SWR, C2C, LNER Prior Information Notices for direct award

Yes indeed. Seems like First/MTR are happy getting their fee with no questions asked while the 701s lie idle in storage.

SWR, C2C, LNER Prior Information Notices for direct award

Perhaps if the level of return is lower than they desire?

SWR, C2C, LNER Prior Information Notices for direct award

I wonder if First/MTR consider that this might be an opportune moment to say goodbye to SWR and let the OLR pick up the pieces?

    Manual Transmission on buses

Assuming your "we" refers to Northern then I'd suggest it could be down to each operators level of engineering expertise. I think its fair to say, certainly in the 80's, Lothian ranked above Northern in quality of their fleet.

Could LSL be launching a competitor service to the Jacobite?

If the 37s running really cold it'd look from afar like a kettle in full steam :D
