Just for the record, I am a qualified train driver also. 1713132715 It’s not really a fair comparison is it? The working conditions and pay of the average train driver vastly exceed that of the average nurse. And arguably the nurses have a much harder job.

Why is it frustrating? Forget about it! You're getting paid £50-80k to sit there. Lots of reasons a signal could be at danger when there isn't a train in section.

RAIB will only be involved if there is something which needs investigating. Obviously it's clear cut and such involvement is not required.
